Landcroft House: Chocolate Birthday Cake
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2010/11/chocolate-birthday-cake.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Tuesday, November 02, 2010. Suddenly Baby turned one this week. Don't know how it happened so quickly but there we are. As she doesn't have any friends yet, she had to have her cake in the middle of Scrap's Hallowe'en party, in amongst the bats and the eyeball jellies. Not that she noticed. This is a good chocolate cake for kids as it's very light and not actually very chocolatey and I find that it suits those below five better that way. It's basically a big red velvet cupcake.

Landcroft House: Child-friendly Cucumber Sushi
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2011/08/child-friendly-cucumber-sushi.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Cucumber rolls are a good introduction to sushi. They're enjoyable to make and there's nothing in them even the terrible two year old could object to eating. This will be us next week. 1 tbsp rice vinegar. Large pinch caster sugar. 5cm piece cucumber, cut into batons. 2 sheets nori seaweed. 1 tbsp sesame seeds. 4 Using a serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 rounds. Serve with sweet soy sauce for dipping. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Greatest Reco...

Life Love. Music. Food. Thursday, July 28, 2011. Summer School - Buttermilk Pancakes. So far, we have made toad in the hole, fruit smoothies, chorizo omlettes, chocolate chip cookies and fresh pesto (not used any knives yet.). Today, buttermilk pancakes for breakfast. 250g self raising flour.

Landcroft House: Easiest Ever Vanilla Fudge
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2011/12/easiest-ever-vanilla-fudge.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Saturday, December 24, 2011. Easiest Ever Vanilla Fudge. This fudge is great. You have all the ingredients in the house already and don't need to go to the corner shop in the rain looking for a large tin of condensed milk as you would for most other fudges. You can make it right now as long as you've got a sugar thermometer or don't mind taking a risk. Makes enough for 2 last-minute Christmas Eve gift bags. 350g golden cater sugar. Few drops of vanilla extract. 4 Leave it to set f...

Landcroft House: Fino
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2007/09/fino.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Sunday, September 23, 2007. I love going out to lunch. So when it was my birthday on Friday, Robert and I both took the afternoon off and met for a date at Fino. On Charlotte Street. It's hard to find and it turned out to be in a basement but from the second we stepped through the door, I knew I was going to love it. It was packed and lively, the service was friendly and speedy and the food was exactly what I was hoping for. Labels: Best Restaurant in London? Recipe of The Week.

Landcroft House: Limoncello
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2010/11/limoncello.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Friday, November 05, 2010. The 4 litres of limoncello I made in July ready for Christmas have now mostly been drunk. To be honest it only takes three weeks to make so I was a bit ahead of myself really and anyway I needed the bottles emptying so they could be ready again for this new batch. Style before lunch and with ice after dinner. 1 litre of basic vodka. 5 unwaxed ( preferably organic. 4 Stir the syrup into the vodka, seal the lid and leave for at least another two weeks, aga...

Landcroft House: Is this the best lunch hour ever?
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2006/11/is-this-best-lunch-hour-ever_03.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Friday, November 03, 2006. Is this the best lunch hour ever? Silvana is in Don Zoko (Rock Bottom). Just down the road from the Liberty arch. I know this because she keeps phoning me up to tell me. "I've got a newspaper and an hour to myself! Apparently, she's going to eat miso soup and pork belly yakiniku don. Then she's going to drink this sake. She's still sending me pictures, but one's just crashed my phone, so I can't get at them. Can this be in any way fair? Honest Jons, 2006).

Landcroft House: Hello Old Thing, Hello New Thing: 45
http://landcrofthouse.blogspot.com/2010/08/hello-old-thing-hello-new-thing-45.html
Life Love. Music. Food. Monday, August 02, 2010. Hello Old Thing, Hello New Thing: 45. Griffin: Yours Till Forever. Sunshine psyche-pop delightfulness recorded with a cast of, well, about twenty in LA forty years ago this summer. Griffin never did make any sort of mark - if you could see the picture of them in front of me you'd understand why - but this is a truly lovely record. Of course, that might be because it was written by Kenny Nolan. Who went onto write this. Peter Broderick: Guilt's Tune. Greate...
