We've had an AMAZING break so far. christmas was fabulous in storm lake. always so fun to spend time with the burbacks. every single time i am beyond thankful that i not only LOVE my in-laws, but i LIKE them. we laugh hard. we have a blast. Saturday, May 25, 2013. What's up with me. (and some links to books.). Four days of school left with my students. Bittersweet. I love this group of kids. They have been so great to work with. They have allowed me the freedom to try some new and crazy things in the classroom. Things that have completely altered the kind of teacher I am becoming. I could keep this same group of kids for years and be happy! Can't wait to change some things up. Plan on implementing The Daily 5 (for those of you who care!

Tuesday, January 21, 2014. 2013 iPhone DUMPITY dump dump.part 2. Lani decided to join swim team this year. It is a big commitment. But she has done awesome. And we are so proud of her. And Ayla turned 6! Yay for the donut cake! I love love love them. Me: "Ayla, stay out of the mud! You probably ruined your boots! Ayla: "Nah.but I might have ruined my hands.". More inspiration for our chalkboard at home. Lani said this is her favorite one yet. I agree. It ranks right up there. Basketball started for Brigg.

Friday, June 29, 2012. While mom is away. The kids will still play. Brigg us filling in on the 10u tribe this weekend at state. He has been GIDDY for over a week. So anxious to play with canon again. They got there today and games r postponed. Apparently a killer storm is passing thru. Possibly laid over for eternity. :). And it is HOT here. I prefer the pacific nw weather over this ANY DAY! Sunday, July 31, 2011. Happy birthday to paul. Today was Paul's birthday. When I was planning this trip I intentionally planned it over his birthday. He loves this place. We BOTH love this place. I couldn't imagine a better gift for him. So it was fitting that we hike up the mountain again today, with our 3 children, 11 years later. Justvas amazing as we remembered. Thursday, September 15, 2011. Another week is coming to an end. It has gone SO fast. It's been a fairly emotional week for me. But there are some fun things happening! First of all, i have learned that when my students all finally grasp a concept, it is beyond exciting for me. I graded a quiz last night and they all did awesome. I was smiling from ear to ear. I wanted to walk in a squeeeeeze them all today! I couldn't wait to hand them out. And they did not disappoint. Lots of fist-pumping and high-fiving.

Live from the Manar's. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. On June 12, 2011 I helped host a baby shower for my friend Lacey and her baby Jack. Jack was born at the end of July and I'm excited to start babysitting for him beginning next week. Here are pictures from the shower. Jack's bedroom is decorated in these bright, fun colors. It was the inspiration for the shower. Loved, Loved, LOVED the cake! I wish you could see the banner detail better. My mom helped me make this. It was one of my favorite things.

Live from the Manar's. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. See this pretty arrangement on my door? Now notice how the bow is a bit messed up? That's because I found a nest in the arrangement. There were 4 eggs. And then there were these guys. We had a good time checking on them everyday. We couldn't help but love them. We also had more on the side of the house and above our back porch light. These little guys were much easier to see. Eventually their nest got so heavy that it fell out. To hold the nest in place.

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Do you know Paul? If you don't, you should. You would love him. Shortly after Paul and I started dating, I was working at Dillards in Waterloo. This woman came in with a little newborn. I asked his name. She said "Paul! I thought this was interesting because you don't hear of a lot of babies named Paul. I asked her if it was a family name or had any meaning and she simply said, "Ya know, when we were coming up with names I told my husband I had never met a Paul I didn't love!
