Astri in Japan: February 2009
http://astrinjapan.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 21, 2009. Nagoya, here I come. :D. Ok, I promised to tell you a little about my host family, so now it's time for me to keep that :-P. So, I was calling YFU yesterday, wondering what I should write in the visa application under 'host family'. The immediate answer made me pretty shocked; "but you already have a family". And then along came this whole conversation with the YFU Representative and me talking about why I didn't got the message in January. I think it would take a little more...

Astri in Japan: March 2009
http://astrinjapan.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Remember me saying Nagoya is extremely big? Well, yesterday I learned something very important when it comes to living in such a big city; Don't go out cycling for three hours so that you get so lost that you have no idea which direction your home is in. Seriously, he walked with me a really long way, and when I had to bike the way myself, he stood pointing and watching to make sure I went the right way. And, uum, that's it. I found my way back home :-). Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Darcy in Argentina: For once and for all...
http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/04/for-once-and-for-all.html
For once and for all. I'm writing with some exciting news from abroad. I recently received word from AFS Argentina. That they have reviewed your application and have accepted you into their Year Program Summer/Fall Departure. So this is it. Lots of feelings inside of me, not quite sure how I feel. But for better or for worse, it looks like I will be stepping onto a plane to Miami (and then on to Buenos Aires) in 113 days, on July 28. Wow (deep breath.). But now we must pack up every piece.

Thanks to Charlotte the world isn't over. I want to leave this host family so bad. And it seems like I'm the blame for it. My host siblings are always yelling and hitting my hmom. My hmom has no control over her kids and she is just a slave to them. I'm still trying to figure out why the HELL would you let a foreign child waiting, at night for you to come. When my hmom picked me up. She had like make up on and everything. O.o. Email me at: panda-love19@ezweb.ne.jp. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my com...

Astri in Japan: Well, a lot ...
http://astrinjapan.blogspot.com/2009/03/well-lot.html
Sunday, March 01, 2009. Well, a lot . First off: I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've just been very busy lately, and when I actually have the time to write something fancy in this blog, I'm either wasting it on Facebook/Hotmail, or I'm just using the time to sleep. The last one mentioned is actually really tempting right now. But, at the same time that I would love writing all about this, I really don't feel like doing it. If that made any sense to any of you . The whole complaining part:. Appre...

Darcy in Argentina: Waiting
http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/02/waiting.html
Oooohhhgh. It's been five weeks. Five weeks and a day since I clicked "submit" on my full application. Five weeks exactly since I had my interview with my local AFS volunteers. Five weeks, and no official word of acceptance. yet! They said it would take 4-6 weeks to be accepted. (Then again, I've talked to some other people who told me that. well. it can end up being more like 6-8 weeks! For now, I'm content with chatting it up with my. Overall, I'm just. waiting. I bought a gigantic. Not really a tossup.
