Windmill Songs: It is for Freedom, Galatians 5:1
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2013/11/it-is-for-freedom-galatians-51.html
Wednesday, November 6, 2013. It is for Freedom, Galatians 5:1. Another Bible memory verse song, but this one contains commentary in a companion song (or part) that is sung simultaneously. Sort of like the way Judas and Jesus sing different songs that blend together in "All for the Best" from Godspell. Of course, not nearly as musically sophisticated as that, but I had that in mind as I wrote this, as well as the way the parts join together in songs like Power in the Blood. Windmill Songs: August 2013
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Who Do You Serve? I realized that not only have I not posted here in a long time, but I have never posted this song. Since I wanted to share it with somebody today, let me get it up here. This song originated when a dear friend, in the midst of a terrible situation, heard God asking him, "Who do you serve? Who Do You Serve? Who do you serve? O tell me who do you serve? Who is the God that you serve? I serve the God who created the heavens and earth. I serve a God who sees me.
Windmill Songs: Vessels for the King
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2011/10/vessels-for-king.html
Friday, October 14, 2011. Vessels for the King. Not only, "I'll never live through this," but "Why does He deal differently with that one? He strokes the clay, and breaks the gold and silver ore with his hammer. Sand is thrown instantly into the fire, and then is shaped not by banging, but by the breath of God. And wood knows only gentle, gentle heat- followed by the knife, and long, long seasons of being rubbed with grit. And in this mighty storehouse, I am drawn to look closer at a burlwood bowl. T...

Windmill Songs: Philippians 4:12-13 (I Can Do All This Through Him)
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2013/09/philippians-412-13-i-can-do-all-this.html
Monday, September 16, 2013. Philippians 4:12-13 (I Can Do All This Through Him). I find that I am writing songs to help children memorize Bible verses. Since our program is using the NIV translation of the Bible, it means that the songs have to follow that version. It also means that the songs other people have come up with over the years are a bit less helpful than they might be. I'm quite pleased with this one. Posted by Crossing Rebecca. Windmill Songs: Make Us a People
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2011/10/make-us-people.html
Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Make Us a People. And finally, because there is. The cities from our nice and tidy suburbs. Make us a People. Father, make us a people. Who will walk on the water. Climbing out of the boat. O Lord, make us a people. Who are baptized in fire,. Just a little drunk with the. Word of Your love. Help us go outside the walls of the city. Following Jesus, bearing disgrace as He did. Walking in the footsteps of God. Father, make us a people. Who sing when we’re captured. A Rambling The...
Windmill Songs: July 2011
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2011. Here's a poem that I wrote a long time ago, but which still makes sense to me as a prayer for today. Forgive me for striving,. For acting as if I had to earn the love. That you poured out so freely,. Dying on the cross for me. Forgive me for not striving,. For giving up and giving in,. For yielding up the righteousness. You died to give. To rest in your love,. To strive with all that I am. To let your freely given love. Posted by Crossing Rebecca. Thursday, July 28, 2011. With you ...
Windmill Songs: August 2011

Saturday, August 27, 2011. Sheer Koheleth, the Song of Ecclesiastes. I got into a conversation last night that drifted into a discussion of the book of Ecclesiastes. The hour was late and we weren't able to finish our talk. Now all has been heard;. Here is the conclusion of the matter:. Fear God and keep his commandments,. For this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment,. Including every hidden thing,. Whether it is good or evil (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). So this was my tas...

Windmill Songs: October 2013
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 29, 2013. A Few Bible Memory Songs. Lately I have been working on Bible memory songs for children. As is always the case for me, I find that my songs are particularly helpful for myself. What happens for me is that I put some words together that convey some truth that I think I have seen, or that speaks to my heart, and then the song runs itself over and over in my mind and heart. And I think that this is helpful. Posted by Crossing Rebecca. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One book at a time.

Rebecca's Journal
A blog dedicated to sharing Rebecca's heart and life. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. I have been thinking lately about fences. Fences keep things out of our property that we feel could hurt us. They also keep others from seeing inside. Some of us have messy yards we want to hide, and others of us have beautiful roses that people never see but only smell briefly as they walk by. It’s time to let it go! Anyway no fence can block My view! And you can be secure in My love for you.”. We know...
