Create. Bake. Inspire. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. This past Saturday I completed my first official running event - the Cellcom Green Bay Mini-Marathon. It was a whopping 2.62 miles! I tried to not get too nervous about the whole thing because I didn't want to be disappointed if I fell short. I only knew my goal was to finish in less than 30 minutes. Boy was I surprised when I crossed the finish line in 25:55! I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but here goes. I. Like. Running.

So many people took some time out of THEIR day to think of me, which sure makes a girl feel special! I received lots of little treats that were perfect for me - like a McDonald's Diet Coke, my favorite knee caps, a red velvet cake, daisies - and some super fun prizes from Scott. It's a cake pop and they're all the rave lately. This was my first attempt at making them and I'm so pleased with the result. In fact, many of my friends at the office said it was too cute to eat! I'll admit that his discharge happened a little rapidly, but it sure is nice having him home. Although now I'm trying to stay on top of his medications for the next week as we begin our transition to the next phase of living with blood clots. There have been at least a dozen babies who have entered my world through various friends and family members. In fact, in just the last three days there have been three new babies and an adoption!
