Thursday, July 23, 2009. Every year we take the leap off the rock jump. We have to canoe over, and our family now fills two canoes. This canoe tipped upon arrival. It usually takes a few minutes before they can work up the nerve.here's Hannah. I tried to get a picture of Josiah, but I missed. Matthew and Luke and I were happy to watch from the sidelines. Feeding the ducks. or more like chasing them! Playing in the sand is always a big hit with our boys. It keeps them busy for hours!

Thursday, June 11, 2009. After 4 years of being annoyed at our driveway, we finally excavated it, allowing for room to open car doors and more room for the kids to play. It was an all-day job, made much easier by the arrival of the Tammingas and their mini-excavator, 3 extra workers and a wheelbarrow. All were much appreciated! The stump was enormous! Monday, November 17, 2008. Here is the latest addition to our home: a kitten! Now we just have to name her! Wednesday, November 5, 2008. This week we received a box in the mail full of IMP's- army rations. Well, that made the dinner decision easy last night! The meals get cooked in the bag in boiling water. There is even bread in the meals! This is an omelette with mushroom sauce. The kids were excited to try it out! But not so much after they tasted it. Yup, they didn't like it! Something else, please!

Saturday, September 27, 2008. Yon familae attendeth thy Medievel Faire. To enter the castle, one must break the door down:. Then it is off to play with the Maypole! Every brave Knight must learn how to climb the castle walls in order to take the castle! His Royal Highness of Alexander. Sir Josiah, renowned Knight of our oval table, bravely doing battle. The young Sir Luke darted around the Knight stabbing and jabbing. Sir Jonathan attacked with courage and speed. Maid Hannah parried with a vengeance.

Monday, November 9, 2009. Nicolas Alexander was born on Nov. 8, at 1:43am. Or therabouts. Mom and Dad were a little distracted and didn't check out the time. Nico was born before the midwives arrived! We are so thankful to God for the safety and grace that He blessed us with. Jon was thankful for this instruction sheet that he followed at high speed in the few minutes before Nicolas was born. Nicolas's brothers and sister are delighted with their new baby! Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Future University of Waterloo Science Alumni! Last Saturday we spent a few hours at the University of Waterloo's Science Fair for children. Each of the different areas of science had activities for the children. In Earth Sciences they worked at scraping out a fossil fish. Hannah and Josiah are panning for gold here, with real gold taken from the Dawson area in the Yukon. See the tiny flakes? Here are the children with friends in front of a T-Rex. Nasty looking thing!

Thursday, February 25, 2010. Though it has been a fairly snow-less winter thus far we have managed to enjoy some outside winter fun. The Floridians arrived when we had a touch of snow, so we went tobogganing:. The hill in our backyward, or more accurately, our neighbour-over-the-fence's yard, has seen some activity:.
