It is what it is, and if it isn't, let's just eat it anyway. ;). 3 cups all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking soda. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 pinch cream of tartar. 2 tablespoons butter, melted. 1 cup plain yogurt. 1 tablespoon caraway seed. 3/4 cup dried black currants. 1 tablespoon uncooked oatmeal. Preheat oven to 350F. Generously butter the bottom and sides of a glass cake pan.

If you make it with minced lamb, it is a Shepherd's Pie, and if you make it with beef, it is a Cottage Pie. This version uises lamb, but if you wish to substitute minced beef, you can easily do so. This makes a hearty main dish that is a favorite with many people. 1 pound ground/mince lamb. 1 cup chopped onion. 1/2 cup diced carrots.
