There are plenty of deer as well, they seem to be herding up to head up into the mountains. There is still a huge snow pack up in the mountains that surround us. Friday, May 13, 2011. Heavy frost on the grass and truck this morning, thank goodness for the cooler weather over night as the river has receded about 6 inches. The gravel trucks worked all night, trying to keep the Highway open for us travelers, thank you guys and gals. I can not believe it is 2012 already. 2011 sure got away on me with all that was going on. I never got enough time here to write what I really wanted to. So I am going to try and summarize the year 2011. Summary of 2011 as I can best recall it:. The mining season was pretty good the guys worked on into November till things froze solid, they then packed up and headed home for the winter. They were the only miners in the area that worked that late. They were very pleased with themselves. Now on to 2012.
