I can not believe it is 2012 already. 2011 sure got away on me with all that was going on. I never got enough time here to write what I really wanted to. So I am going to try and summarize the year 2011. Summary of 2011 as I can best recall it:. The mining season was pretty good the guys worked on into November till things froze solid, they then packed up and headed home for the winter. Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Just freezin' my berries off. I can't believe it's October and I'm still picking berries! I never wash my berries until just before I prep for freezing or making jam. I lightly wash my berries in small batches removing bugs and stems in the process. It's important to not water log them, treat them like your washing mushrooms.
