recipes I've used: April 2014

http://recipesiveused.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Exactly what it sounds like. I don't usually make sheet cakes because in the faraway past my 9x13 cakes used to sink the middle. So I switched to making bundt cakes instead. They're beautiful and there's no middle TO sink. And I'm not a frosting person, either. BUT I wanted to make a birthday cake for my friend, who asked for yellow cake with chocolate frosting. You can't really do that with a bundt cake. Drizzle, sure, but that's not the same. So I made this recipe, which promises to be pretty foolproof:.

Exactly what it sounds like. Almond Bundt Cake III (I think, for this blog). I used this recipe:. Http:/ www.bubblews.com/news/914894-almond-bundt-cake-recipe. But I made my own almond paste, using this recipe:. Http:/ candy.about.com/od/nutcandyrecipes/r/Easy-Almond-Paste.htm. I was happy with how it turned out. Also this bundt cake was a little taller than some bundt cakes I've made (my pan has tall sides so cakes never fill it up entirely. It says 10-15 cups on it.). Last night I cooked 2 lbs of dried...

recipes I've used: yet another brownie recipe: Tartine bakery style brownies

http://recipesiveused.blogspot.com/2014/12/yet-another-brownie-recipe-tartine.html

Exactly what it sounds like. Yet another brownie recipe: Tartine bakery style brownies. I saw this recipe. And I had to try it. I used Trader Joe's 72% dark pound chocolate pound plus bar. (Some reading suggested that there is not a formal difference between "dark" and "bittersweet.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Exactly what it sounds like. Recipes I Haven't Used (yet): Crushed Chickpea Soup. Want to make this: http:/ www.sfgate.com/recipes/weeknightdish/article/December-dinners-that-will-get-a-warm-reception-5083283.php. To make this a vegetarian dish, substitute vegetable broth for the chicken broth. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 onion, diced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest. Kosher salt and ground black pepper, to taste. Lemon juice to taste, if desired. Garnish...

recipes I've used: Pumpkin waffles

http://recipesiveused.blogspot.com/2014/10/pumpkin-waffles.html

Exactly what it sounds like. I made these: http:/ pumpkinwaffles.wordpress.com/ultimate-pumpkin-waffle-recipe/. They are awesome. I had a container of pumpkin that was about 1.5 cups, so I multiplied the recipe by 1.5. I also didn't grease the waffle iron because mine doesn't seem to need it. And we added some chopped walnuts. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. They were spicy and not too sweet, which was nice. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I made this one up. Notes on what I did.

RECIPES made by KAT

RECIPES made by KAT. Monday, April 11, 2011. How boring. These are the BEST pancakes though. Much trial and error have gone into these. Add some multigrain flour, at least some cornmeal, in place of the white flour. You will very definitely not regret it. I always let the mixture sit a bit before I add the melted butter. This puffs it up, and adding the butter punches it back down again, but it seems to work best this way. Not too thin, not too thick, once they're baked. 5 teaspoons baking powder. Freeze...
