Tongue Tied: On Editing
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2015/06/on-editing.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. When I started out in digital photography five years ago, I had a sour feeling about editing. It rankled a bit that there seemed to be less skill needed for photography these days, because all ya had to do was put the camera on automatic and then add the pretty on the computer. Art could be contrived and mass produced, and it made it ten times harder to stand out. I still feel like photography is almost a little too. And dang it, I wanna make art if it kills me. Editing should les...

Tongue Tied: November 2014
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. So, what's been going on around here in my writing absence? 4 I have been neglecting my house blog. But not my house. Small, but necessary things are happening around here, I just keep forgetting to blog about them! 5 The silver lining to not having a dog: being able to throw kids outside without cleaning up poop first. 6 I have become a coffee drinker. So, at thirty two, I'm finally a grown up. And I'm getting Seth converted too. Monday, November 10, 2014. I'm busy. I'm ...

The Practice House: January 2014
http://thepracticehousesethswife.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
About The Practice House. Monday, January 27, 2014. I actually have some "afters" today, Peeps! I know, I can hardly believe it myself. Firstly, the little dresser. This baby was well worth the money. I stalked Craigslist for a couple of weeks, but couldn't find anything just the right size for this space. When I realized we couldn't get the desk last week, I opted for this instead. If you remember, this was what was here before:. Now for the bookshelves. Here's how it was before:. Cluttered, unorganized...

Tongue Tied: April 2014
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 8, 2014. This feels like a year of big change. Some changes, like losing dad, aren't all that welcome. But the funny thing about traumatic circumstances is that they ignite a fire within me. I have felt a ton of motivation in the past month, motivation to do. Things I once thought I didn't want or that I couldn't make myself do, I'm now fully immersed in. Things that a few months ago terrified me are now things I really enjoy and look forward to. Friday, April 4, 2014. Of course, we're not...

Tongue Tied: Favorite Photos of 2014
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2015/01/favorite-photos-of-2014.html
Friday, January 2, 2015. Favorite Photos of 2014. At the beginning of 2014, I told Seth that I wanted to spend the year really studying photography. I had exhausted all I could do on my own, and I had developed a desire to learn. So much more confident and satisfied with photography, and that is probably more important to me than the actual photos themselves. I feel like I generally know what I'm doing now, whereas before, half the time I was going on a gut feeling and a prayer. January 2, 2015 at 2:37 PM.

Tongue Tied: March 2015
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 3, 2015. I had a really cruel dream last night. I dreamed Dad was alive. Like, the whole death thing had just been a big mistake. He'd been rescued by a funeral home worker and had spent the last year getting better before he could come home. And there he was, sitting in my sister's kitchen like nothing had ever happened. I could hug him and talk to him and watch him with my mom and everything was just perfect. Even in my magical dreams I'm quite the realist. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tongue Tied: The Anonymous People
http://tonguetiedsethswife.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-anonymous-people.html
Saturday, June 20, 2015. The internet's a funny thing. A few times in the last eight or so years of blogging here, I've had strangers comment. And nearly every single time, anonymous comments meant disagreement- often angry or condescending disagreement. And almost every time, they've been deleted. Perhaps that's selfish of me, but whatevs. That's the perk of having a blog. Total control. Mwahaha. The anonymous comments are usually snippy, condescending, angry, or disrespectful of my faith. Today it was ...
