The Salford Lads Club – and The Smiths. After penning articles about ‘The Room’ and Ivor Cutler, the only ambition remaining was to write about Morrissey, Marr, Rourke and Joyce. I was trying to find a different angle as so many words had already been printed about the band and their continuing musical and cultural influence.
