Q: How is VAT claimed back? Claims are submitted by off-setting VAT due in future returns. Experience shows that the Receiver accepts this practice. Q: Can SARS dispute the claim? Q: How is Recoup paid? Recoup is paid a percentage of the claimable amount only once the benefit has been received. For example, if the claim is R500 000, to be offset against VAT claims over the next five months, Recoup would be paid the agreed percentage over those next five installments on submitting the claim.
