Treatment 4 Autism: June 2010
http://treatment4autism.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Blog to go with my website and also to be a personal place to jot down ideas about autism, my son, and coping with this puzzling disease. Monday, June 14, 2010. Looking for a Dog for Caleb. Caleb's convinced us that we need to revisit the idea of getting a dog soon. Everywhere we go he gravitates towards the dogs (and them to him) and he finds everything they do so fun and amusing! Pics are from fishing and the carousel ride a week ago.* We're already into full summer mode! Links to this post.

Treatment 4 Autism: Sigh...... What a rough few months!
http://treatment4autism.blogspot.com/2011/03/sigh-what-rough-few-months.html
Blog to go with my website and also to be a personal place to jot down ideas about autism, my son, and coping with this puzzling disease. Friday, March 4, 2011. Sigh What a rough few months! It has truly been a rough few months. Caleb has been in a "funk" that he just hasn't been able to snap out of. It started around Christmas and is continuing. He will appear to be in a good mood, but then. Today was the second day in a row that I've brought him home due to hitting a teacher. March 14, 2011 at 11:59 PM.

Mom’s on a Mission…. Just call me Martha. December 23, 2007 at 4:48 am ( GFCF Diet. I have actually really enjoyed cooking GFCF this past month. Today, I learned that I love baking GFCF too! I bought a package of GFCF yellow cake mix at the health food store for cupcakes. We’re going to California to see my in-laws for Christmas and I know they’ll have tons of sweets available! I mean, really really great! Zack is going to love them🙂. December 23, 2007 at 6:16 pm. January 27, 2008 at 5:19 am. You should...

Leaving Las Vegas? | Mom's on a Mission...

Mom’s on a Mission…. December 8, 2007 at 9:41 pm ( GFCF Diet. 1) We’ve left Las Vegas twice and were back within months because there is NO MONEY anywhere else. Sure, I’m working on my first manuscript and I can write from anywhere, but what about in the mean time? 2) Small towns = less doctors and less therapists. How is this going to help our son? So, we’ve been butting heads a little bit on top of all this stress and I’m about to explode… or run away. Yep. December 8, 2007 at 10:33 pm. Planning, plann...

Mom’s on a Mission…. Brought to you by the number 6. December 16, 2007 at 11:50 pm ( Autism. As I sit at the table with my 3-year-old and a pile of colorful bears, I start to wonder what other 3-year-olds are capable of. Is my son able to do more when it comes to intellect and skills? Is he doing less? Should we spend less time playing matching games and more time stacking cups? Or, should we forget table time all together and concentrate on larger motor skills at the playground? My mother is in town and I haven’t really been on the computer much. But, here’s an update and then I hope to get back to my regular posting. Zack is doing absolutely amazing! His withdrawl symptoms are GONE (knock on wood) and other than his normal screeching when I tell him no about something, he is behaving pretty well too. I’m really happy with him! Mom’s on a Mission…. December 14, 2007 at 5:39 pm ( Autism. It comes naturally to me. If I feel my son needs speaking up for, you bet your ass my mouth will open. My husband avoids confrontation, which is probably why he married me. Opposites attract and all that. Lately, confrontation has been my head title and middle name. December 15, 2007 at 4:00 am. Mom’s on a Mission…. December 20, 2007 at 4:15 am ( Autism. What’s the point of making them? Is that my purpose in this world? In April, we found out that his fascinating quirks were actually red flags of Autism. Ok. The news wasn’t easy at first (especially for my husband) but we worked through it and now we realize that Autism is a label… NOT a definition. But, I still want to recover Zack. I still want to help him find his voice. Who wouldn’t? What GFCF meal am I making for dinner tomorrow night?

The Way to my 1st Ironman. I'm trying to log the information regarding my experience while training, coping with injures, and doing or not doing triathlons after I signed for an Ironman. I visited Caleb's new class yesterday. I am very impressed with the teacher, as I get to know her better and watch her in action. She has infinite patience! We all marveled at the empathy and care shown between the 2 boys. No one "gets it" like they do! The pics are from Caleb's 8th birthday that he just celebrated la...
