Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Monday, February 28, 2011. Recently I was inspired by a friend's blog and gained motivation for training and racing through his training tips and running info. Most people who know me would probably say that I would benefit from being unmotivated more than anything, but yes, I do find motivation in reading about other people's lives. So why start a blog? Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Post race photo op in Key West. The Keys 100 is an ultra marathon run from Key Largo starting at mile marker 101 and heading south all the way to Key West ending at mile marker 1. It is run all on concrete sidewalks or blacktop shoulders on the road. It is notoriously a hot race but this year they said it was a few degrees cooler, but I'm pretty sure they were full of it. Or maybe this should be called the upchuck. My stomach started givin...

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.: January 2012

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Monday, January 9, 2012. I shaved my legs for this? The worst was on the climb called Pineapple hill, a five mile steady climb in the middle of the island. The wind barreled down the hill in a full head wind for the entire climb. I was wishing for just one more easy gear by the end of it. But it wasn't there. The top was not very comforting since I was looking at the same wind in my face going down hill. Feeling better, but who's puke. Is that behind me? So with 8 m...

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. My humble attempt at a charity drive. Like I said I looked at a few different charities but I decided I needed something that really spoke to me and therefore would drive me to make a strong effort towards raising money. Well I really didn't need to look farther than a very good friend and former partner of mine from the old days, Pat Apoian. He is the founder and president of an organization called Humble Heroes. The Race and Rules.

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Money in da bank! Pre-race with the best crew chief ever. Quick fuel stop and still smiling! Back in at 73 for what seemed like an even faster crew stop, although this might be my imagination by now. I headed back out with my new pacer Chuck. We are both doing Umstead. This is Dani, guest blogger, writing about my experience as "Crew Chief" for Jason. I am ADD so there is no promises that my thoughts will go in any order that make sense. Me: "I don't know him" Timmy's dad: "Well why you got all his stuff? That's crazy. I didn't give it much more thought. Time passed by SO quickly during this race! That is NOT on the list of typed instructions!

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.: February 2013
http://jasonoverbaugh.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Monday, February 25, 2013. The Chimera 100 is an ultra marathon set in the Saddleback Mountains in the Cleveland National Forest southeast of Los Angeles, CA. The website boasts over 24,000 feet of elevation gain over the 100 miles of trails. That's more than both Leadville and Western States 100 milers. Throw in extreme weather changes due to elevation variations and some rain and fog and it makes for one hell of a difficult 100 mile train run. Just a mile to go.
