Bodleblog: Joy and Pain
http://bodleblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/joy-and-pain.html
Friday, April 04, 2014. Paul got to visit him while I was in recovery and then they wheeled me down to his room. Gray looked so helpless in his isolette, bilirubin lights on and eyes covered. By our second visit in the afternoon he had been placed on a ventilator—his oxygen saturation numbers dropped on the CPAP. But on the ventilator he was doing ok. He needed morphine so he wouldn’t work against the ventilator. He had the tiniest little IV. I had to start pumping. That can wait for another day. He took...

Bodleblog: 25 Weeks and Counting
http://bodleblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/25-weeks-and-counting.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. 25 Weeks and Counting. Tomorrow I am 25 weeks pregnant. At this time during my first pregnancy I was on bed rest at home with high hopes that I would return to work in two weeks after a follow up appointment. Although no tests could confirm it, I was clearly leaking amniotic fluid. I wasn’t officially diagnosed until 27 weeks with PPROM—Preterm Premature Rupture of the Membranes. No known cause, which is frequently the case. When will the other shoe drop? 150,000 women a year suffe...

Bodleblog: 30 weeks
http://bodleblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/30-weeks.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. So I have reached the 30 week mark and every Braxton Hicks, especially well placed kick and discomfort has me on guard. Not in a panic per se, just on high alert. I keep asking myself (and the great World Wide Web) what is normal. When do I call the doctor? Do I need a maternity belt and this discomfort will go away. Do I start counting these tightenings? Or have I forgotten and now they are gone? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cool stuff you should check out!

Bodleblog: A Dance with Dragons
http://bodleblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/dance-with-dragons.html
Saturday, January 28, 2012. A Dance with Dragons. Well, finally on to book 5. I can't seem to put these books down. But when this book is over, it's over. Until Martin can finish books 6 and 7. And then it will really be over. I will have to go back to my old New Yorkers for the past 4 months that I haven't been reading. Because I am obsessed with these fantasy books. Labels: Dance with Dragons. The characters are killed off when the author does not know how to develop them ant further.

Learnings from the rowboat of life. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. It is easy to learn from an 18 month old. Watching Ryan enjoy his new found freedom and ability to communicate is priceless. He epitomizes living life in the present, living in the moment. He treats each and every experience the same.with eyes wide open and no filter. Somehow we lose this as adults. Life becomes practiced, expected, routine. Sunday, March 15, 2009. On Tuesday, March 3rd we lost Jeffrey Ryan Lott. The answer, you don't. We con...

Learnings from the rowboat of life
http://learningsfromtherowboatoflife.blogspot.com/2009/03/on-tuesday-march-3rd-we-lost-jeffrey.html
Learnings from the rowboat of life. Sunday, March 15, 2009. On Tuesday, March 3rd we lost Jeffrey Ryan Lott. There is no rhyme or reason, no right or wrong. Just life and it's inexplicable randomness. How does one explain a 34year old widow with a 3yr old and a 5yr old? The answer, you don't. Does God decide the outcome of war? Does God decide who dies and who lives on a daily basis? If he did, people like Jeff Lott would not die randomly. How narcissistic of us. I'm sorry, but it's how I feel. I can't s...
