Tuesday, November 07, 2006. When Yahoo purchased HotJobs.com in December 2001 many people in the online recruitment industry felt it was the perfect acquisition. The # 1 site on the internet (Yahoo) joining forces with the # 2 site for online recruitment. Well after 5 years I can tell you that the acquisition has been far from perfect, and I really question what management at Yahoo/HotJobs is doing with the site. They've dropped from the # 2 online recruitment site to a distant # 3 in just a few years.

Friday, November 03, 2006. A Recruiting Take Away From a Direct Mail Sales Flyer. The mailer did two things I really liked. 1. It had his first name in large bold print (not that many of the others I've received haven't) 2. It had a map from his house directly to the store. It also had written directions. (Personalization at its best). Now I know that this mailer went out to thousands of other people in my coworkers area, but it caught his attention enough to bring it to the office and show us.
