Friday, April 03, 2015. One of our customers brought in a really unusual folding bike the other day. Made in Holland, apparently sold under the Columbia name here in the USA, in the late 60s. Really interesting bike, with some unusual construction features. Really sharp looking, and in remarkably good shape. And pretty fun to ride too! Take a look at the detail photos to see a real time capsule bike. Interesting location for the Sturmey-Archer trigger shifter. One of the prettiest chain guards we've seen.

Well, if you're familiar with "long tail" cargo bikes, such as the Xtracycle, Yuba Mundo, or Surly Big Dummy, this is a slightly more compact and lighter version. Some folks call them "medium tail" cargo bikes. They're capable of carrying up to 220 pounds in addition to the rider! Recumbent bike riders near Clarence, NY. We normally ride every fair Sunday morning from Clarence Center, New York. We have no officers, hold no meetings, and take no dues. To join us, simply show up with a bike and a helmet. If you aren’t sure you can do a whole ride, ride with us for as long as you choose and we’ll give you a shortcut back. We welcome new recumbent riders. Next ride: August 16th, Clarence Center, 10 AM weather permitting. Check back for updates. Photos 2014 (3D red/blue glasses needed).
