Just another WordPress.com site. Tags: chinese sponge cake. Adapted from The Scarfer, http:/ thescarfer.net/blog/2009/06/07/steamed-chocolate-cake/. 10″ bamboo steamer, 9″ cake pan, 10″ skillet pan. In Chinese cooking, breads and cakes can be steamed rather than baked. I recall fond memories of eating mantou (steamed buns) and steamed chinese sponge cake for dim sum. Recently I read a blog about making a cake that is just as delicious as a baked cake, except that it is steamed! The results were delicious!
