Of the arts, perhaps storytelling, design and music shine most brightly for me. I was drawn to storytelling, first, through the medium of advertising as I was attracted to the idea that you might craft small perfect stories and send them out into the world. Through advertising I gained an appreciation of the visual arts, of design and the rules of form and function, complements and colour. Here's a documentary I made about the Ginger Tiger, for your amusement. WARNING: Contains loud monkey noises.

Lift Summer Mind Fuel Challenge. This was an unexpected project that sort of fell on our laps. Someone from The Radio Bureau was asking on Twitter if anyone still knew how to make Flash games. They wanted a game to go in the ZM website to promote a Lift Plus promotion that was giving away VIP camping at Rhythm and Vines. I immediately jumped to the opportunity and asked my partner (who’s a very experienced developer) if he could help me with the trickier parts of ActionScript.
Laneway | Lorde

Laneway / Lorde Campaign. Posters. Bus Backs. Flash Banners. Communications asked me to make all the NZ ads for Laneway Festival. They sent me the Australian material to use as reference to produce posters, flash banners and bus backs in different sizes. Lorde had to cancel NZ Laneway due to the Grammys, but thankfully she announced a side show. I was then asked to design a poster for her, using Laneway's visual identity.

Here are some of the work I have done while studying. The video below I made while studying Game Art at Media Design School. We all got to pitch game ideas to the class and they would then vote for the ones they wanted to work on. My pitch had enough votes to get done, so we formed a group to make a prototype and a Kickstarter-like video. If you want to see more of the work I did for this course, click here.
