Jalapenos Stuffed with Peanut Butter. June 25, 2015. I’m not sure if this is a traditional Mountain Man snack but the guys at the various camps really enjoy these. I got the recipe from Samuel P. Arnold’s cookbook. Samuel P. Arnold owned Bent’s Fort and ran a restaurant specializing in Western cuisine. The recipe is easy but really good. 1 can pickled jalapeno peppers. 1 small bottle of peanut butter. Give it a try you’ll like them. Come sit by the fire and enjoy a great snack. Dad’s Savoury Mince. February 17, 2015. My wife is from South Africa. She made this dish for me and it was so good I had to share it. Sharon said that her dad cooked this every Saturday evening. the memories that it brought back for her was so special, her dad passed away about 4 months ago. I hope that my children will have similar memories from my food. 1 lb mince(ground beef). 1/2 onion, chopped small. 2-3 garlic cloves chopped small. 2 Tsps. chutney(apricot jam). Squirt of Worcester sauce.

February 4, 2015. Growing up each of us kids was assigned a day to cook. My one sister was not very adventurous, so when her turn came, it was spaghetti or rice pilaf. Mainly because it was easy to cook, and you could top it with about anything. And she topped it with many interesting things. I prefer marinara sauce and meatballs on my spaghetti. Around the campfire this Dutch oven dinner is quick and very filling. It’s one of my favorite evening meals. 1 package of dry spaghetti. 1 lb ground beef.
