Tsitsikamma is the area of the Garden route which the San people called the "Place of Sparkling Waters". Here the high mountains, deep gorges and rugged coastline are covered with tall, indigenous forests which are home to ancient trees such as Stinkwood, Yellowwood, Ironwood, Hard Pear and many others. To the North are the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Eden to Addo corridor. To the East is the Tsitsikamma National Park. To the West is the Keurbooms Nature Reserve.
