The Ramblings of a Paramedic Stretcher Monkey. One of my duties is the manning of an RRV or rapid response vehicle. I was one of the first RRVs some years ago and it was all a great learning curve. Having seen how it was done in the Westcountry Ambulance Service I wanted to use their model. No point in trying to reinvent the wheel. Things are improving all the time and patients/casualties are receiving quicker attention. Reasons to be Cheerful…! Stuck on You…! Have a Safe New Years Eve…and Day! On Chain ...

Random Thoughts From Sleepless Nights. Wednesday, June 4, 2008. You never know what you are going to be doing that day. I think about it sometimes while checking my gear for the day. Be ready for anything. The call goes out for a fall off a parking structure. We pull up to find the police already on scene as well as the fire department. I go to grab the backboard and collar bag as a state trooper comes over to me. Do you have a blanket? I think they are going to pronounce her here". We resume CPR while d...
