give yourself wholly: Day 13: On "Other" Religions
http://whitneee.blogspot.com/2013/02/day-13-on-other-religions.html
Thursday, February 28, 2013. Day 13: On "Other" Religions. Here's his question again:. How do we know God is real when so many other religions could be right, and [how do we know] there can be only one religion that can be right because if there was several, someone in the Bible like Joseph would write in the Bible, 'it is not just one religion that's right, there are millions that are right.' PS-I need this answer as soon as possible.". Dear M.,. Thank you, Eric M., for the mountain metaphor :). Im refr...

The dripping maple outside my window accompanied teeth-brushing, and I resigned myself to dampness as I pulled on a fleece. March 19, 2009 in Uncategorized. Hey y’all, I’m back…. I have two campus visits scheduled at top-notch DC Schools: Georgetown Day School, and Highland School in Northern Virginia. As much as one can tell about people from a 30 minute interview, I think I’d be happy working with either of their faculty. This has been a really good day, and it’s not even 5 PM. Fabulous. Phew. Carrying a big stick not required. You are currently browsing the monthly archive for December 2009. Recipe for a Smile. December 27, 2009 in Uncategorized. It was 22 degrees F this morning at 7 AM. And the sun was still asleep, and my thought upon hearing the alarm was that I should be, too. My number one symptom of being really down is wanting more sleep. Not needing it (although I can usually convince myself I do), but wanting it. Wanting to just roll back over and let the world slide past. And the su...

http://whitneee.blogspot.com/2009/12/simple-life.html
Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Do you remember that show "The Simple Life"- our first ridiculous introduction to Paris Hilton and her schemes toward some kind of legitimate celebrity? Like an old married couple. It's nice to be reminded that relationships (of any sort) really can work. People can complement each other and finish each other's sentences and be cranky with one another without really minding and live together for over 50 years. The Princess and the Frog. Of course, in the end Grandma agrees t...
