http://photosandfabric.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Friday, 8 November 2013. My pictures for this post are from last night. This is Madeline, she does amazing work. She is really old and speaks very little English. I think she is about 90. All her kids, including one of the teachers I work with, were sent away to residential school. She is working on the gauntlet for some mitts. She sell her mitts for 400 dollars. She made herself a long necklace before the evening was over. This is a first attempt for one of the young...

Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Tuesday, 19 June 2012. Watch those flowers open. Last week was my birthday and I received a very neat joint gift from my daughter and son and my husband. Time Lapse Plant Camera. I have tried a few time lapses and they are pretty amazing. I haven’t worked out all the kinks yet, but I want to share the two that I have attempted. It won’t take you long to view them because the longest one is only 15 seconds. Here is a photo of my beautiful orange iris:. How many of us h...

Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Monday, 23 September 2013. This is our new house. We are about 8-10 minutes from the school. In the other house we were 5 minutes from the school. The comment the local people make is, 'you live way out there? This is the kitchen and on the coach is the chief cook and bottle washer. David has been baking bread and muffins regularly. From the kitchen end this is our living/dining room. Here is a sunset from the deck. There are lots of beautiful sunsets here. This is th...

Photos and Fabric and the Far North: March 2012

Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Saturday, 31 March 2012. A ROCKY April First. It is no joke, these are rocks, but they are beautiful. The high water in our river has receded and our beach is above water. Every spring brings a new crop of rocks, some for skipping and some some for just looking at. These are just some of the rocks on our beach. I love the colours and the textures and the stripes. Wednesday, 28 March 2012. Sunday, 25 March 2012. Pine cones and Pussywillows. Photos and Fabric and the Far North: December 2014
http://photosandfabric.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Friday, 26 December 2014. I thought it was time to get back to my blog. This summer when I was home so many people mentioned my blog and were disappointed that I hadn't continued to post my story. Even my daughter said I had better start again! So here we go. We finished our ten months in Lutsel K'e. We met so many great people and I really loved (and miss) the students. But it is such a sad and sort of hopeless place that we just couldn't face another year.

Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Saturday, 25 February 2012. The snow storm last night left about ten or twelve centimeters of snow. We snowshoed this morning and the woods were beautiful. I took a walk around our yard and the gardens looked wonderful with their thick blanket of snow. It's hard to believe that in a month and half my hostas will be poking up through the soil. Wednesday, 22 February 2012. Monday, 20 February 2012. The Brown Bag Challenge. Tuesday, 14 February 2012. This is one of the c...
