Eat More Toast: RBSC Challenge #3- Peppers in Dessert
http://run4awhile.blogspot.com/2012/02/rbsc-challenge-3-peppers-in-dessert.html
From the trenches of residency. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. RBSC Challenge #3- Peppers in Dessert. This weeks challenge was to combine chocolate and peppers. I ended up going the "Chili-Choco" route for two reasons. First, to pay homage to a Brazilian dessert I encountered when living in Sao Paulo. Second, to honor the annual Chili Chocolate Cook-off we used to participate in each February with our church congregation when we lived in Columbus. Here's the recipe:. Pour into cute cupcake cups and bake.

http://run4awhile.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
From the trenches of residency. Sunday, September 12, 2010. At the end of August, Justin had a one week break between rotations. What better time for an end of summer road trip? Stop 1: Scranton, PA (The Electric City) on our way to NYC. As you probably know, Scranton is home of everyone's favorite Office. It lived up to the hype for the entire 15 minutes we were there. Stop 2: New York, New York! Some our other favorite experiences included:. Just look at Brianna's face. Pure joy. Need we say mo...You m...

Eat More Toast: March 2011
http://run4awhile.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
From the trenches of residency. Tuesday, March 8, 2011. I worked in the NICU and Pediatric unit at the Hospital General de las Fuerzas Armadas #1 (Military Hospital) in central Quito. Every Tuesday night was futbol night. Gringos vs Ecuadorians usually. Chasing a ball around at 9000 feet left us all sucking air after only a few minutes. We surprisingly managed to hold our own, thanks to Jimmy and Ryan actually being soccer players. It was an ideal Spring Break! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://run4awhile.blogspot.com/2012/02/rbsc-challenge-week-4.html
From the trenches of residency. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. RBSC Challenge Week #4. This week's challenge was to create a dish using barley. This hearty, sticks-to-your-ribs grain can be used for so much more than making bread or booze! We decided to go with the dessert theme, since we can't seem to get enough sweets lately. Our concoction was inspired by the delicious Thai treat, coconut mango sticky rice. Cardamom and Coconut Barley Pudding. 1/2 Cup barley (soaked). 1 can coconut milk, separated. When ...
