Sunday, August 31, 2008. 贺梅案又浮出海面，我曾听说其一，不知其二，于是补看了一些评论，它甚至上了维基百科，恩，有专门词条. 65292; 还有一篇不错的分析文章. 这里我想补充的是，贺绍强夫妇把早产的女儿贺梅送出去，贺梅那时还没满月；贝克夫妇收养三个月之后，又称接贺梅回家的条件还不成熟；让不懂英文的老婆签署放弃监护权。这些，我只能说贺是一个贪小便宜的人。为了能外出打工，把自己的孩子放在别人家带养，无偿的；为了省几百块钱，不愿负担女儿的医疗保险，于是轻率的放弃监护权。但是贺又是很会算计的，算计他人的善良，算计养父母一把屎一把尿的养大贺梅建立了深厚的感情，算计到时可以以老婆不懂英语为由推翻签署的条议。官司他都赢了，包括一开始他的性骚扰案，因为美国的无罪推论；贺夺回了监护权，因为美国的天赋人权，尽管你是一个无赖小人，你也拥有你做父母的权利。 Posted by Hannah W. Nov 17, 2008. 阅读，还是阅读。这个要说的是通过阅读了解孩子。我就是喜欢看孩子多读书，为什么呢？有助于思维写作演讲和自学。小老大现在三年级，作业不多，workbook我也不让她做多。她们学校是星期一给一星期的作业，其他天只有一点阅读和数学。小老大一般半小时就能做完一星期的作业。每天的workbook差不多也是半小时左右就能做好。其他的时间这孩子看书，还有在DS和web上养了十几只小狗。这个，就是这孩子的基本作息时间。小老大的读书习惯从小就养成了，但是自己真正开始读书是从一年级开始。第一套书 Jonnie B Jones 系列，属于幽默搞笑型。很推荐给小女孩做第一套chapter book。其中的几本我也看了，然后和孩子一起讨论，听她说说读后感实在很有意思&#12...我相信，如果我在国内，最适合我的工作就是，街道妇女会专门找人谈心的那位。在这里我也是兼职的communication lead。不是吹的，别的我不行，我会套话，特别是孩子的。但是，有个好词&...就是那个什么什么事来着。How do you think about it now? 继续说阅读，我就打算用阅读烦死你们...

July 14, 2015 / 镜子. 1776 年的 Continental Congress 真是一个很好玩的地方，也不知是打哪租的房子，门外就是闹市，牛来猪往，非常之接地气。你若跟当地人打听请问，Congress 怎么走有人指给你木匠堂会，有人给你指图书馆大厅。走进 Congress，十点钟还是那么静悄悄的，横七竖八七八张桌子，七凑八凑十几把椅子，疑似当地人捐出的多余家具凑合而成的，唯一一位打杂的，Mr. McNair 倒是勤勉，大早就过来给各个座位摆上鹅毛笔和蒲扇，对，蒲草做的扇子，六月的费城实在太热，又不敢开窗户，因为苍蝇更烦人。除了十三个州的代表，Congresss 还有一位主持会议的主席，一边扯着嗓子宣布当天要议的诸事要事，一边手持苍蝇拍，啪一下，又啪地一下，拍打桌子上的苍蝇还有一位秘书，专门念前方华盛顿将军送来的战报，投票时他还负责唱票。说起唱票，就得提一提挂在壁炉上方那块硕大的投票板，每州一格小木板，根据代表的意思，McNair 举着一根长棍将小木板挪到 Yea 或者 Nay 那一行。 1776 年的 Congress 是一个比小学生课堂还欢乐无比的地方。
