Reflections from Katie

Thursday, September 9, 2010. Life doesn't always go how we plan does it? I certainly didn't plan to be a newlywed bride with a badly broken leg. I broke it August 21st, after we'd been married only 3 weeks. After waiting almost two weeks for surgery, I'm now at home, laid up for many more weeks, and unable to do much of anything. So much for keeping my house spotless or any of the painting projects I had planned! About working until at least mid-December. I can’t even do. I guess I carried some of that t...

Reflections from Katie: October 2009

http://reflectionsfromkt.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 8, 2009. Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Praying for Casa de Amor! I have posted several times on here about one of my favorite organizations, Casa de Amor. CDA is a children's home in Cochabamba, Bolivia, run by my friend Jennifer T. (Even though I haven't been able to do much, I like to say that I have been able to work with CDA a little- even from the US. :) So far, the Lord hasn't actually sent me to Bolivia. But I'm always open to that opportunity! Casa de Amor’s Foster Family prog...

Reflections from Katie: September 2009

http://reflectionsfromkt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 26, 2009. As most of my friends know, I just love to play the piano. It's always my way of letting out all of my emotions and refocusing myself. So I just love to play very expressive pieces. The piece I'm learning right now is called "All of Me,". I'm still learning to not get my fingers all tangled up when I play the part where the bass comes in. I don't know if I will ever get it right but I'm trying! Another muscian that I'd like to try is David Nevue. I found his site. This is ju...

Reflections from Katie: December 2009

http://reflectionsfromkt.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 27, 2009. In case you haven't noticed. I've been rather distant on here! Honestly, I've just been enjoying. I focused on finishing my second-to-last semester well. I spent time with my family, enjoyed time with my friends. I haven't spent nearly as much of my lesure time on the computer as I usually do. Other things have been fighting for my attention. Life is on the brink of changing rapidly for me, and I'm trying to soak up all I can. Or am I trying to please man? Verse of the Day.

Reflections from Katie: Worry Not, Part 3--David

http://reflectionsfromkt.blogspot.com/2010/03/worry-not-part-3-david.html

Friday, March 26, 2010. Worry Not, Part 3- David. The intoduction to Psalm 56 tells us that it was written, "When the Philistines seized him in Gath." This psalm was composed during on of the most turbulent times in David's life. He had every reason, according to human standards, to fear. Yet what is this psalm all about? When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust;. I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? This I know, that God is for me. V 3-4, 9-11).

Reflections from Katie: Worry Not, Part 2--Hezekiah

http://reflectionsfromkt.blogspot.com/2010/03/worry-not-part-2-hezekiah.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Worry Not, Part 2- Hezekiah. I have been extremely neglectful of this blog lately! I wrote the rest of the parts to the "Worry Not" series over a month ago, but I haven't found the time to type them up and post them. Finally, though, here is the second part. Better late than never, right? So rather than worry, what is a child of God supposed to do? Hezekiah, however, does not waver in his faith or worry about what will happen. Rather than worry, Hezekiah went and "spread it...

Reflections from far mland

Reflections from far mland. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Posted by rouba at 11:30 PM. Sunday, December 04, 2011. I am going to be a writer. i decided on that yesterday. why not? I ran into half an existential crisis a few days ago. i felt i needed a talent. a person i know claimed she "sketched". mechanical "sketching" she said. and her drawings were portraits. painfully intricate, pedantic, beautiful portraits. where did that come from? I felt envy, jealousy maybe. she was born this way? Its been 8 years si...

Size 7x10, paperback, 416 pages, ISBN 9780988910805. Ldquo;I have rarely been so moved by a memoir. The strength of Marianne’s story lies in the culture shocks she experienced, her homesickness, and her longing to connect with those who were foreign to her, yet her very blood. This book is ultimately a success story in learning how to be a citizen of the world while remaining true to yourself.”. Tyler R. Tichelaar, Ph.D. and author of the award-winning Narrow Lives. Reflections from Holland

Stories from life with our son with Down syndrome. Friday, July 10, 2015. A Work in Progress. Last December I shared that I had begun working on a manuscript for a second book that shares Shawn's and my love story and quest for purity. Here's a little update: I have nearly completed the rough draft for. It is my goal to have this done before Josiah arrives in a few weeks, but we'll see! Shortly after, we gathered with a few other students in the lounge area of one of the girls’ dormitories, and I p...

Söndag 5 april 2009. Two months' behind the Iranian chador. Genom CHALMERS ansökte jag om utlandspraktik till kommande sommarlov. Jag tilldelades gladeligen mitt förstahandsval – OSTAM Civil and Construction Co. Inspection in working environment.
