Reflections From The Bell Curve: Open The Cabinet (Just A Little)

http://reflectionsfromthebellcurve.blogspot.com/2015/08/open-cabinet-just-little.html

Reflections From The Bell Curve. New Jersey, United States. View my complete profile. Monday, August 10, 2015. Open The Cabinet (Just A Little). Who would you nominate for Secretary of the Arts? Put aside the lamentable fact that there is no such cabinet level position and fantasize with me a little. What would be an optimum age for this person? Should experience as a professional artist (in some field) be a requirement or is expertise in the business end of the arts preferable? What do you think? Follow...

Reflections From The Bell Curve: August 2015

Reflections From The Bell Curve. New Jersey, United States. View my complete profile. Friday, August 28, 2015. Two Weeks Of Radio Silence. North to Alaska for the longest time away from home since a cross-country drive in 1999. And the longest break here on the bell curve since the August 2011 fiasco that resulted in my first (hopefully only) arrest. No, I wasn't in jail but blogging during that nadir of the past five years seemed superfluous. Remember the hit " How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away.

Reflections From The Bell Curve: Woody Assists The Completist

Reflections From The Bell Curve. New Jersey, United States. View my complete profile. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Woody Assists The Completist. Soon after seeing " Irrational Man. Woody Allen's latest film - it suddenly dawned on me. For better or worse, the Woodster's metronomic output is one way I mark time as the years accumulate. On the one hand, a film like " Hannah And Her Sisters. Stable on the vocational side. And even a not-so-favorite like " Husbands And Wives. 1977) and " Deconstructing Harry.

Reflections From The Bell Curve. New Jersey, United States. View my complete profile. Monday, August 3, 2015. Becoming Part Of Some Solution. How will gun owners and those who choose not to own guns ever reach agreement about protecting people from mass shootings? Is there a middle ground on this issue? If so, I haven't heard it reasonably articulated. If you have, please educate me and others. I'd like to begin becoming part of some solution. August 8, 2015 at 6:12 AM. Many people can own a gun and neve...

Odd Thoughts

Monday, March 21, 2016. I've been re-reading some of my favorite HP fanfics, and, after 17 years in the fandom, finally noticed something about the houses. The problem is that Hufflepuff's defining trait isn't weakness: it's hard work. And Slytherin's isn't evil; it's ambition. What if we have it backwards? If the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins aren't being kept apart to protect the kids? If it's to prevent them from cooperating? But if Hufflepuff and Slytherin start cooperating, ambition and hard work.

Reflections from the Center of the World

Reflections from the Center of the World. I'm well aware, as my parents told me many times growing up, that the world does not revolve around me. However, as Accra, Ghana is the closest place on land to the geographical center of the world - the intersection of the Equator and the Prime Meridian (or, for you numerically-oriented people: 0 degrees latitude, 0 degrees longitude) - I thought it an appropriate title for the blog chronicling my time here.
