My name is Richard Dowdy. I began volunteering with the Humane Society of Wichita County(HSWC) in 2009. I had driven my step-daughter for her leadership class. The class was cleaning cages. I could either sit in the car and watch or get out and scrub. I started scrubbing. All of us enjoyed spending time with the animals. Caring for them at the shelter and trying to find them homes was very rewarding. Thank you for reading.
