Why do we have favorite numbers? If you really think about it, it makes no sense. Why should one number be more special than any other number? Favorite color, now that makes more sense. A color is something that can at least be aesthetically pleasing. I can confidently say that I. That color. But a number? Why would I dislike a number? Having said that, my favorite number is 2. I have always wanted to be a writer. And not just a writer, but a good one, you know? One that nonchalantly writes an amazing blog, and everyone and their mom wants to share it and read it and share it again. That my journal sessions in countless coffee shops would get picked up by some publisher, and my life would be so interesting that they’d want to turn it into a book or ask me to write something for some unimportant magazine. Reflections over a homemade latte. As a christian, it can be hard to admit my fault. I pretend that I have none. Or that I know what I’m doing in this life. Or that I have everything under control and need not trust in anything but myself. So easily do I get sucked into this false reality where I am God. Where I make the decisions. Where I have a right to get stressed out over something. Where I pretend, and eventually start believing, that I am what our society strives to be. Rich, righteous, healthy.
