Riverbird's Place: Blame Game
http://riverbirdsplace.blogspot.com/2014/10/blame-game.html
Monday, October 13, 2014. Wow it's been a long time since I've been here! Work has been keeping me busy. There's soooo much I've been wanting to write but haven't had the time or energy. For those that don't know, my new job is at a residential treatment facility for kids with emotional and behavioral issues, most due to trauma. As you may imagine, it's an intense place for me to be! Of course everyone wants to blame the bio parents. That's the easy target, right? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Riverbird's Place: September 2014
http://riverbirdsplace.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Years ago I was fortunate enough to take a trip to Costa Rica as part of a study abroad class. I had an amazing time and am so grateful for the experience. What a beautiful country with genuinely nice people! Realistically, I probably wouldn't function well on Tico time. I'm a procrastinator. I wait until the last minute and then rush to finish everything before the deadline. When there's no deadlines, I don't do much. But I love the concept. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Middot; 0 comments. 8220;The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place, but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.”. Middot; 0 comments. 8220;The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.”. 8212; Steven Biko. It is amazing how illogically we think before we begin to recover. Likewise I remember the first time I got so intoxicated that I couldn’t walk, I got sick and made an ass of myself. The next day I did not blame the alcohol, it was the fact that I did not eat before I went out! It simply didn’t stop, I always had an excuse and not drinking was not a consideration.

Middot; 1 comment. June 23, 2013;. I instantly knew that Jack was the man I needed in my life. Prior to meeting Jack, I felt like an outcast at times when I would share in meetings these same thoughts. Once in a while someone would agree but more often than not I was met with resistance. But Jack had a way to bring the message of hope without offending anyone. From alcohol and drugs lied within this brokenness. Comment… read it below or add one. June 23, 2013 at 2:30 pm.
