Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Let me start by saying that though I am still making pictures, I have been recharging by reading and exploring other forms of creativity. I have every expectation to start up on painting in the next week and a half. Otherwise I found myself thinking about sketch books. My sketch books specifically. Things by messing around and trying different techniques or just being random. I do wonder though if I am using my sketch books to the best of the media has to offer. Streets of new york.

The second and more important is that I am not getting a three dimensional feel to it. The contour isn't there leaving a flattness that I cannot seem to paint my way out of. Clearly on is colored in and one is not. I certainly cannot say that the color or the coloring job improves upon the picture.
