Drool on the Pillow: 02.08

http://narrowingdown.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Drool on the Pillow. Intense. Like the Circus. 27 February, 2008. It has been a while since I've written straight fiction. And I'm not super happy with this result. I'm obviously a bit rusty. But it's a start, and hopefully it gets better than this. If I'm not happy with it then why did I post it? Hence, this story (and most likely some of the subsequent ones) are like a frumpy picture of me in underwear. I'm not proud of them, but they're an impetus for me to get better. Judge away. I know I am. He neve...

Drool on the Pillow. Intense. Like the Circus. 28 March, 2008. I haven't forgotten about my last post. I'm still working on it. But I wanted my reader(s)(? To not feel too left out. Fair's fair, this isn't a new piece: It was a writing assignment from College. I had to write a story in under two pages. So it's brief, and maybe a bit confusing. But I like it. And I wanted to post it online. So there. Can you kill a man who is your double? Can you live with yourself after killing yourself? Deposit DNA and ...

Drool on the Pillow. Intense. Like the Circus. 14 March, 2008. Nowhere to Run to. This story actually goes on for a bit more, but I'm not sure that I like where it's headed. So I'm posting this much. This story is my goal right now. Maybe not to finish it, but to at least figure out a real direction. I doubt if I even know what love is. And that someone else? None other than the international celebrity, Mister Uhru “The People’s Guru”. Mister Uhru was a name created to evoke visions of foreign landscapes...

Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure: "so long"

http://klukraine.blogspot.com/2007/11/so-long.html

So long to Casey.see you in the States buddy. It was Bandera's first 'first snow' in Ukraine on Monday 12 November. And it was our last 'first snow' in Ukraine. Damn right we're counting. Posted by L Lawson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure. Larry and Karen served in the US Peace Corps in Ukraine from Oct 2005- Nov 2007. We can't believe two years went by so fast. Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure. Gotta add this one from the road.

Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure: A Reflection on 2 Years in Ukraine

http://klukraine.blogspot.com/2007/10/reflection-on-2-years-in-ukraine.html

A Reflection on 2 Years in Ukraine. Living here for two years has given me the ability to begin to understand the roots of some cultural behaviors that I would otherwise view from an outsider’s perspective as weird or illogical. Many things can be explained by history, religion, or some other unobservable aspect of Ukrainian life. This experience has also given me a chance to reflect on my own culture in more depth. Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure: Becoming Women

http://klukraine.blogspot.com/2007/11/becoming-women.html

My most interesting conversations and experiences in Ukraine have occurred with the girls who regularly attend my English Club. They are the ones who were self-motivated enough to take time out of their busy schedules to practice English. They even came to our Club during the summer, when they could have been relaxing with their friends. I am becoming the woman I’ve wanted,. Grey at the temples,. Soft body, delighted,. Cracked up by life. With a laugh that’s known bitter,. But, past it, got better,.

Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure: writing the book

http://klukraine.blogspot.com/2008/02/writing-book.html

I didn't think I'd ever come back here, but here I am. It's been a while. I just wanted to let you know, all of those still reading, that through a bizarre set of miracles, I'm sending a book proposal for my non-fiction book based on my PC Ukraine experience to an agent in NYC next week. If she likes it, maybe something really exciting will happen. If she doesn't, at least I'll have taken a very important first step. Posted by L Lawson. Congratulations and best wishes on the book deal going through :) ).

Karen and Larry's Peace Corps Ukraine 29 Adventure: Beautiful Northern CA

http://klukraine.blogspot.com/2007/12/beautiful-northern-ca.html

After a week in San Diego visiting my family, we're in northern CA with Larry's family. We took a drive up the coast on Sunday all the way to Brookings, Oregon. It's cooler up here, but just beautiful. It's been so nice to be surrounded by family since returning home. I've especially enjoyed taking part in the holiday traditions we've missed these past 2 years like decorating the Christmas tree and sending out cards. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Hugs and Kisses from Fortuna, CA.

Rejection Role

This is a story of a new recruit at Neurocam, fed up with the world around him and trying to discover a bit more meaning to this shitty world. Wednesday, July 13, 2005. I noticed this typo. I said:. Well, in keeping with what i have said above in this post, i cant remember a thing as to what has happened lately. All i have to say is that i am sorry for not posting in forever, an i will not post regularily again. Thank you.". I meant to say that i will NOW. Post regularily again. Sorry for the mistake.
