A Place Called Desperation. Desperation is most often utilized as a negative term. Desperation is often when options have been explored and expended, when hope languishes. To be desperate often means to be in a state to accept the unacceptable just to get by. The alternative is to give up altogether. External forces or internal fears can funnel us into a state of desperation. We can flounder and fall because we are driven by desperation. Desperation, it is not the same thing as being driven.
