Learning Curve: Generally Speaking
http://learningcurvey.blogspot.com/2015/08/generally-speaking.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. Writing a “Day in the Life” type post is hard. Mostly because things change so often the posts really aren’t a good representation of life at all. So I’ll share a bit of our schedule, generally speaking. While some folks have a set wake up time, I prefer to let the girls wake up on their own. Typically Lindsey is up around 7am, and Olivia can be up anywhere from 7-9am, after 9 I wake her up like it or not. Latin, language arts, math, science and geography follow as each girl finis...

Learning Curve: Weekly Wrap Up–Good Bye July
http://learningcurvey.blogspot.com/2015/07/weekly-wrap-upgood-bye-july.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Weekly Wrap Up–Good Bye July. Seriously folks, where did July (and the entire summer) go? Am I the only one who hasn’t made it to the pool yet this year? Ok, rant over. Moving on. We have had temperatures in the 100’s, with some torrential rains this week. It’s been pretty miserable outside during the day. Olivia worked at the museum two of those days, poor thing. If you’re looking for a new recipe to try out, check out this week’s Hummingbird Cake. Labels: Weekly Wrap Up. Grab a b...

Learning Curve: Weekly Wrap Up–Horses, Bluegrass & The Fair
http://learningcurvey.blogspot.com/2015/08/weekly-wrap-uphorses-bluegrass-fair.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Weekly Wrap Up–Horses, Bluegrass and The Fair. We have really gotten a lot of “bang for the buck” out of our next to last week of summer! Saturday morning the girls and I got up early and made the trek out to see a local horse show. Olivia LOVES horses, and she was in awe watching these beautiful creatures and their skilled riders. This of course prompted much reading and research on horse breeds. Here are a few of my favorite photos of the day. That is delish. This is great f...

Giving Up On A Clean House: Sight Word Garden
http://givinguponacleanhouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/sight-word-garden.html
Friday, May 28, 2010. This is our sight word garden! I bought cardboard flowers from Michael's and we painted them using our liquid watercolors. Each flower has a sight word on it and all of the flowers are put into a flower pot. When Ryan really knows a word (can quickly identify it, find it in stories, and spell it or sing it's song. He gets to plant it in the garden! That's our summer reading chain. Hanging above the garden :). Posted by The Mom I Want To Be. May 28, 2010 at 1:08 PM. B would love that!

Giving Up On A Clean House: Learning the Color Words
http://givinguponacleanhouse.blogspot.com/2010/02/learning-color-words.html
Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Learning the Color Words. We are still working on recognizing and spelling color words. Yesterday we made a book to add to our book box (a box of mostly homemade books that Ryan can read on his own). I got the idea for I See A Rainbow after seeing a project that a friend's son had brought home from preschool. First I made traceable sentences for each page. Here. It is to save you the time :) Next I made a template for the rainbow, again here. Posted by The Mom I Want To Be.

Zachary, 10; Laurianna, 13; Kaleb, 8; McKenna, 12. So the kids are growing up. Proof positive in the picture above. In case you don’t recognize them - well, those are our four. It’s been a bit since I’ve shared a picture and looking at the family pictures on our wall in comparison - yikes. I wouldn’t have it any other way. At all. This m...Subscribe t...
