Playing Hooky in Fort Worth | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/03/04/playing-hooky-in-fort-worth
Playing Hooky in Fort Worth. This entry was posted on March 4, 2012, in barbeque. This past week has been really busy and tiring, so I was pleased when I got a text on Friday from DH that said, “Will you go on a date with me tomorrow? 8221; I emphatically answered “Yes! Museums, and fun shopping and dining. Pictures speak louder than words, so here are some fun shots:. I tried this maze the last time we were here….I barely made it out of there alive! The petting zoo. Those goats wanted that food! I’...

Bluebonnets! | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/bluebonnets
This entry was posted on March 26, 2012, in blanket. 8221;The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom is to Japan, the lily is to France, the rose is to England and the tulip is to Holland.” – Jack Maguire, Historian (Taken from my sweet friend Jenni’s facebook page). As I mentioned in my previous post, I am in the middle of moving. Moving is not fun. It is a pain, to be honest, and I would much rather be crocheting. Almost two color rounds done. Happy Monday! Beautiful...

This entry was posted on March 6, 2012, in blanket. In case you forgot (which is likely), here is the color order I chose for my blanket. I deleted one color. Which do you think it is? I have finished one full color round. Whooooooooooooot! 2 thoughts on “ Can you guess? March 6, 2012 at 6:04 am. Is it that mossy green colour? It seems to stand out a bit from the rest of the rainbow? March 6, 2012 at 10:15 am. The grey in between the purples/blues. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

New Pattern Purchase | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/03/29/new-pattern-purchase-10
This entry was posted on March 29, 2012, in crochet. I have so much to do, so naturally, I’m blogging. But I just HAD to show you all the pattern I just purchased. This is a breakthrough for me, because it is my. But it is just so beautiful that it inspired me to give clothing a try (eventually – not sure when this WIP will begin yet). Do you like it? If you’re interested, I got the pattern from Craftsy. Anyway, just wanted to show you all what I got! 11 thoughts on “ New Pattern Purchase. Looks so like ...

Blanket progress… | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/03/07/blanket-progress
This entry was posted on March 7, 2012, in blanket. So the color I deleted is the darkest purple — the second to last color. I deleted it because it was so much darker than any of the other colors, including the brown, and I just thought it looked weird. Would you like to see my progress? I love the way it’s turning out. I darned in the ends when I got through all the colors. Darning is by far my least favorite part of crocheting! 10 thoughts on “ Blanket progress…. March 7, 2012 at 12:07 pm. Your blanke...

Checking in… | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/04/10/checking-in
This entry was posted on April 10, 2012, in Color scheme. I apologize that I have been out of the blog loop here lately, but going through major life change is my excuse! We did successfully move to Mississippi, although we turned right back around yesterday after church and came to Houston, TX to visit Kevin’s family for a week. While I am here I hope to visit a yarn shop or two, so stay tuned. I am also stitching along on the blanket; I hope to get through color round three by the end of the week.

Too awesome not to share…. This entry was posted on March 8, 2012, in yarn bombing. Just saw this on Deramores’ facebook page and I wanted to share! That’s how I can always tell knit from crochet. Anyway, the article seems to think it was just one person that did this – if so, man, kudos to them! Isn’t it cool? I hope they don’t take it down. This makes me want to go yarn bomb something! 2 thoughts on “ Too awesome not to share…. March 8, 2012 at 9:57 am. March 8, 2012 at 11:50 am. Enter your comment here.

Well, with a high of 83 today, I think it’s safe to say that Spring has officially sprung here in Texas. It has been an unusually mild winter – I don’t think I ever even took out my real winter coat, I just got by on jackets. But even though it has been mild, it’s … Continue reading →. Double the Love…. Double Wedding Extravaganza! | Playing Hooky
https://erinsplayinghooky.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/double-wedding-extravaganza
This entry was posted on March 20, 2012, in family. And tagged double wedding. Sorry to have been gone for so long, the last two weeks have been CRAZY busy. The fun doesn’t stop, either, as we are moving to Mississippi in two weeks. I’ve done some packing but there is SO much more to do. Needless to say, I have not gotten much crocheting done lately. Boo. However, remember that double wedding shower. Well, the double wedding was this past weekend, and it was gorgeous (albeit exhausting! Those guys are se...

Remembering Esme
Esme Carter died in July 2010 in Great Ormond Street Hospital after months of horrendous treatment at just 22 months old. She'd been ill for a while with terrible fevers and was finally diagnosed with the disease Haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. 10 months after her death her parents discovered that Esme had had Leishmaniasis a parasitic disease and that this had caused secondary HLH. If they had discovered this at the time Esme would most probably be here with us today. Fundraising for HLH Research.
