John was always of two minds when it came to remembering someone. While he never valued the stuffy and impersonal atmosphere of a traditional funeral setting, he still greatly warmed to the genuine, heartfelt sentimentality of such events. So we are going to try to create a remembrance with the goal of being a little less formal, and a little more. A celebration of his life. The event itself will commence at 2 pm on May 9th, 2014, and will be followed by an afternoon of visiting and socializing.

In accordance with his wishes, John was cremated in Comox, BC, where he had been living for the past several years. It was also John's wish that there not be a funeral, nor any ceremony there; it was always his intention to have a more informal gathering at a later time and place.
