Life With Steven: My Miraculous Mom

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2009/04/my-miraculous-mom.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Sunday, April 19, 2009. My mom got out of surgery on Saturday around 1:15 pm, but they didn't remove the breathing tube until around 7:30 pm. We got to see her a little after 8:00 pm, and although she was painted with betadine from head to the tips of her toes (literally), she looked good and was laughing and talking, albeit a bit trembly and shaky. She's talking to Steven. Doesn't she look great? My mom, our miracle.

Life With Steven: President's Day in Memphis

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2009/02/presidents-day-in-memphis.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Monday, February 16, 2009. President's Day in Memphis. Our flight to Memphis was thankfully uneventful and on-time. We even got there in time to eat in the cafeteria, where I harassed Steven by taking pictures of him while he was eating. Our hope is that one day these studies reveal something useful that can be used to help the kids who've had to go through such rigorous and toxic treatments at such a young age. This time ...

Life With Steven: Waiting for the All-Clear

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2009/02/waiting-for-all-clear.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Waiting for the All-Clear. Tuesdays are clinic days in the E (neuro-oncology) clinic. I am always sadly amazed at the sheer number of new faces, the never-ending stream of new families seeking desperate treatments to keep their children with them. Dr Gajjar's nurse Lizzie comes in and says she still hasn't seen the MRI results but thinks all is well. She gives Steven a neurological exam. Kathlee...

Life With Steven: Fixing Her Broken Heart

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-her-broken-heart.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Saturday, April 18, 2009. Fixing Her Broken Heart. I stayed with my mom at the hospital until around 1 am this morning. She "put her face on" before she went to sleep just in case she wouldn't have time to do it during pre-op. We hung out with her in pre-op and they let us escort her to the operating room. As always, she was looking great and was in great spirits. Its the heart afraid of breaking. That never learns to dance.

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2009/02/stevens-february-scans.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Monday, February 23, 2009. I requested Steven's scans on CD and put together a video of the different scans. The video shows all the different slices they take, with and without contrast. The colored images at the end are looking at white matter changes. Life With Steven: I Wish To Go...

http://stevenbell.blogspot.com/2005/04/i-wish-to-go.html

A Tale of Our Family's Brain Tumor Journey. Steven and Sean on the Polar Bear Cam. Saturday, April 02, 2005. I Wish To Go. See Ursus Maritimus in their natural habitat. And to see the northern lights. Now, how cool would. Steven has been generously granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish. After much thinking about many different possibilities for a wish, his final choice was a trip up north. We will be traveling in tundra buggy. A nearby school, Solana Santa Fe Elementary. Steven was interviewed for their scho...

Morena Molly Valdez Robbins

Morena Molly Valdez Robbins. Monday, December 24, 2012. Recently two thoughts have occurred to me - and rather strongly. The first is that Molly has a continuing interest in what the kids are doing, how they are doing, and to see them now and then. I know it's a bit odd to keep calling kids, that are all now adults, "kids.". The second is that she wants her friends to know that she is concerned about them. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She graduated from Cyprus High last week! Friday, April 20, 2012. For me, ...
