Good News From A Far Country: Inside the Walls
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2007/06/inside-walls.html
Sunday, June 24, 2007. We started our tour at the Jaffa Gate. This gate faces the city of Jaffa (Joppa in the Bible), so it was thus named. This is just a piece of wall, but if you look closely, you will see bullet holes from the wars in 1948 and 1967. Walking down the narrow streets, I found this to be the sight that transported me back to Bible times. I don't know what this man was saying, but you couldn't help but feel badly for him. This was as close as we could get to this site for today. Since ...

http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2009/08/great-news.html
Saturday, August 15, 2009. I know, I know, I've been pretty absent around here lately. Sorry about that. We've been busy enjoying the summer and planning for an upcoming vacation, so the blog has been put on the back burner. I do have some exciting news to share though. I better give a little background so you all will understand. This last October my old friend/ ex-step-brother, was gloriously SAVED by the precious blood of Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord for this unexpected blessing! God is so good!

Good News From A Far Country: Birthdays
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2009/07/birthdays.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2009. On the 4th of July we did have lots of fun, but not in a traditional Independence Day sort of way. We attended the Estonian Song Festival, with singers from all over the country coming together to sing in one choir. Those involved began the day with a parade, walking from the center of town to the Song Festival grounds. The processions began at 2:00 and didn't end until 7:45! There were SO MANY participants! Here's just one shot of the parade. Thats a huge choir! Wow I guess that...

Good News From A Far Country: My Testimony
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2008/01/my-testimony.html
Thursday, January 3, 2008. Goes on and on. We were good Catholics. My whole youth I can't recall ever feeling like I wasn't. Doing what was right. Now, I knew that I sinned, but as a Catholic we just went to confession (almost every Saturday), and that took care of it.right? Because I was Catholic, and he was Baptist. I really. Didn't understand that at all. Looking back on it, I can see that he was right.but I'm also saddened that he didn't tell me anything. Against me; but. God had a plan for my life.

Good News From A Far Country: Bowling
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2009/09/bowling.html
Wednesday, September 16, 2009. One day, after twiddling our thumbs became boring, my kids came up with a makeshift game of bowling. They used some empty water bottles for the pins, and since we didn't have a ball, we squished up a piece of aluminum foil into a sphere. We. Had fun with this for hours. I was reminded of this yesterday when my children brought me outside to look at their new game. Your brother will surely appreciate this post! Looks like a fun time! September 16, 2009 at 5:26 PM. AwwwwI can...

Good News From A Far Country: Kiss your pins and scissors good-bye!
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2007/11/kiss-your-pins-and-scissors-good-bye.html
Wednesday, November 7, 2007. Kiss your pins and scissors good-bye! This post is "dedicated" to Christina at HsKubes' Haven at Home. She and I share a common hobby/job/privilege in sewing clothes for our children. I'm going to share with you my method for cutting out patterns that will save you TONS of time and effort! Besides the obvious sewing machine, I consider this to be one of my most valuable sewing notions. If you can only afford one; this is the one to get. I purchased this mat here. Go back to u...

Good News From A Far Country: This Time... We WERE There
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2008/07/this-time-we-were-there.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2008. This Time. We WERE There. Okay, if you've heard/read the news today then you know all about the second attack in Jerusalem by a man in a front loader. As you can guess by the title of this post, we were there. Today we applied Psalms 71:1-2 to our family. "In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.". Why did he decide to wait until we passed by? I called arou...

Good News From A Far Country: The Garden Tomb
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2008/06/garden-tomb.html
Monday, June 23, 2008. I call this place "The Jewel of Jerusalem" because I've found it to be the most beautiful, peaceful place in the entire city. (plus it's free, which is a hard thing to find around here). It's real name however is The Garden Tomb because many believe it could be the garden of Joseph of Arimathaea in which Jesus was buried after his crucifixion. Let me give you a little tour. This beautifully maintained garden is well marked along the paths. Our first stop will be "Skull Hill". For C...

Good News From A Far Country: Our Trip to Egypt

Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Our Trip to Egypt. Warning: You are about to view a bunch. Of pictures and read lots. Did you miss me? Did you even realize that I was gone? We have just returned from our trip through Egypt and Jordan, and we had a great. Friday evening we met the tour bus and headed off to the border between Israel and Egypt, at Taba. I have to say, that it felt very odd to be able to drive. Because the border crossing took so long, we were already a couple of hours late. By the time w...

Good News From A Far Country: Open Air Museum
http://goodnewsfromafarcountry.blogspot.com/2009/07/open-air-museum.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Last weekend we took advantage of the beautiful summer weather we've been having and decided to visit Estonia's Open Air Museum. Many countries, and even U.S. states, have something similar. a little "village" of old houses, schools, barns, etc. We had so much fun visiting this one; here's a little bit of what we saw. The first set of houses we came to had a gathering of people in costume outside of it, so we knew something exciting was about to happen. And we were right. The de...
