Traveling is one of my favorite things, second perhaps to blogging. And okay, eating. I figured I’d share what will probably be the hands-down best year of my life thus far, seeing as I am going to travel, eat, and BLOG ABOUT IT. 9/2008: Taiwan, Philippines. 12/2008: SF Bay Area, and hopefully New York! I can’t wait to see what the world holds. (Also you knew this was coming I cannot wait for Belgium waffles, and German beer, and French crepes, and Amsterdam, well, is Amsterdam…). And another one bites the dust. Hearst announced today that CosmoGIRL! Its last issue will be this December. Even though it is being consolidated with Seventeen magazine, CosmoGIRL! Defined much of the bedtime reading of my youth, and I’m sad to see it and print in general crumble with falling ad sales. In particular, CG! First ElleGirl, now CosmoGIRL! And another one bites the dust. Never thought I’d say this, but I’m too old to be going out on Thursday nights. (And if we recall, I’m only 19.) Post-club, I fell asleep in my roommate’s bed within the 10-minute span that the pizza was in the oven and woke up disoriented at 7 am to write a paper (which I finished in two hours like a pro, naturally). A smorgasbord of blogs. Training my carnivore roommate to incorporate fruit into his diet. B: Hey, how do you eat a peach? T: Just wash it. Is it ripe yet? I think it’ll be better after a few days. B: But I wanna eat it now. T: Okay, just wash it then. B: What the… what’s this hairy stuff? T: Peaches have fuzz. He rinses the peach. B: This doesn’t look very sanitary. T: It’s fine. T: Just eat it. Five minutes later, he reemerges. B: I think it’s moldy. T: Peaches are fuzzy. B: Are you sure? T: I swear it.
