Birth of The Republic. It was not until the English brutally subjugated Gwynedd, in 1282, that Wales ceased to exist as a separate entity to England indeed English Law still claims authority in our lands. Wales has a government, in its capital city of Cardiff Cardiff being about as far from Gwynedd as one can go, without leaving Wales. Republic of Gwynedd Showground

The Gwynedd Showground, is located just outside Caernarfon. It has its own tram station on the line between Bangor and Caernarfon and is easy to access from the A55 Highway. The Showground hosts a wide range of events, from the memorable National Eisteddfod a few years ago to the Ab Fab Gay Pride last year. Transport in the Republic of Gwynedd

Gwynedd Airport is on the tramway network, making it the airport of choice for much of north and mid Wales. The airport began life as a Second World War fighter base, and remained in use, mainly for leisure flying, until the Republic supported expansion and connected it to the tramway network.
