Mike On Cricket: Ben on...whinging Kiwis beaten up
http://mikeoncricket.blogspot.com/2008/11/ben-onwhinging-kiwis-beaten-up.html
A place for me to indulge my passion for New Zealand cricket, post those stories that don't make the back pages of the morning paper and discuss cricket with my friends. Wednesday, 26 November 2008. Ben on.whinging Kiwis beaten up. The news over in Aus is that the crowds have gone feral and the Black Caps don't like it. " Crowd turns on Kiwi 'faggots'. Is the headline in the Daily Telegraph. "New Zealanders say they were called faggots" is the Herald Sun's headline for the same article. Doesn't sound to ...

Monday, June 30, 2008. I'm starting to get to a stage where I can't remember details about individual matches anymore! I'm glad I have the blog to remind me of stuff. One of the 1st teamers asked me yesterday who had taken wickets the previous day in the game I played - and I flat out couldn't remember. I couldn't even really remember who had played - or if I'd bowled my self! And by then the 3rds was full again - so I'd no game! View from edge of Mullingar cricket pitch. We got off to a very poor start ...

Monday, September 29, 2008. Despite their severe hangovers, the 12 visiting Yorkshiremen beat us soundly. They had two batsmen in particular that took the game away from us, both of whom made 50s at a good strike rate. One of them drove a ball from me straight down the ground for 4, and next ball picked up my "sly" attempt at a slower ball - and cracked it back over my head for 6! I managed to get things back under control a bit in the third over, to finish up with 22 runs off me overall - but no wickets.

Thursday, August 28, 2008. Just had the indoor cricket session, and the good news is - I can still bat! The first over I faced was hopeless, I was incapable of hitting a ball (albeit from a chucker : ) ). But then I decided to just relax and play the ball as it came to me, which worked great! Anything straight and short was either pulled away or pushed into a side-wall for 1 run. Anything full was hit straight down the ground, so I was able to pick up a run or two for nearly every ball. I've just read th...

Ben on.I'll teach you to squander our superb bowling performance! You can read it different ways, but this article. Suggests that the NZ bowlers are mightily pissed at the underperforming batsmen and are taking it out on them in the nets. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Paul Ford at Different Strokes.

A place for me to indulge my passion for New Zealand cricket, post those stories that don't make the back pages of the morning paper and discuss cricket with my friends. Saturday, 1 November 2008. Ben on.the surprise performer. I'm not going to analyse the performance of the individual Black Caps, I'll leave that to others. In the test series Iain O'Brien. Picked up 8 wickets at 11.87. The best of the specialist pace bowlers by 7 wickets. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Paul Ford at Different Strokes.
