814 W Francisco Blvd. San Rafael, CA 94901. This store is now closed! Thursday, December 29, 2011. Thankful Thursday with News and Pics. Giving thanks today for the support and patronage we've received from the local (and distant) communities! Good News / Bad News. Good news: we have many items to donate (clothing, toys, strollers, infant swing, etc). Bad news: many local charities are full right now and we cannot store all the goodness. Know any charities in need? Can you pick up and deliver? It's almos...

Marin Kids Consignment: Do.
http://marinkidsconsignment.blogspot.com/2012/07/do.html
814 W Francisco Blvd. San Rafael, CA 94901. This store is now closed! Friday, July 20, 2012. I came across a wonderful set of tag lines from a new to me FB page, The Jelly Bean Trail. Be Your Best. Love Your Life. Do What Matters.". This immediately struck me as a great way to do every day - if one wanders around aimlessly whether physically or mentally, then what is it that is being accomplished? Lisa Klein of Loved Twice. I'm not rich now, far from it. But I give the same way, as much as I can in w...

Marin Kids Consignment: November 2011
http://marinkidsconsignment.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
814 W Francisco Blvd. San Rafael, CA 94901. This store is now closed! Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Green Gifting.or not! During the holiday season I love hearing from customers that they, family and friends have agreed to buy nothing "new" as gifts. What a concept! Of course they find fun toys, books, and great clothing at our store but there are other outlets from which you could provide a "green gift". Sometimes new retail items are picked up just because. Do they even WANT a gift? The regular 0-12m c...

http://small-to-large.blogspot.com/2012/08/philadelphia-magic-gardens.html
One of my new. Coworkers suggested I visit the Magic Gardens. And for someone who doesn't know me that well, he hit it right on the money. The Magic Gardens. Are a creation of one man. Still living) over the course of fourteen years. The closest comparison I can make is to the Watts Towers. Which clearly served as inspiration since creator Isaiah Zagar. Added an ode to Simon Rodia. See below). Other than that, it's fairly hard to describe - this is one where the photos really do tell the story.

The city of brotherly love. We took advantage of the President's Day weekend to visit the city of many past presidents. However, we managed to fit in a couple cultural activities as well (more on that later). 169;all photos by me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://small-to-large.blogspot.com/2012/03/troll-museum.html
Did you know that there is a Troll Museum. In New York City? Started the museum in 2000 and to say its been a labor of love seems like an understatement. I did come away from the experience with a much increased knowledge and appreciation of trolls. If you'd like to learn more about the museum, or just to hear a truly awesome theme song, please watch this. 169;photos by me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). small medium large: discovering columbus
http://small-to-large.blogspot.com/2012/11/discovering-columbus.html
Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi. Transformed the sculpture of Christopher Columbus at Columbus Circle. Into an even more interesting work of art. The artist built a rather stylish penthouse living room with the sculpture as its center. In addition to the well designed space (I especially liked the NYC themed wallpaper), it was also incredible to see the sculpture so close and personal. 169;all photos by me. http://small-to-large.blogspot.com/2013/01/dia-beacon.html
Has been on my to-visit list since I first visited the Hudson Valley last summer. A former Nabisco box printing facility, Dia was turned into a minimalist art gallery in 2003 - an enormous, cavernous gallery. The only other time I visited Beacon. Was in the summer, so going there in 25° was quite a difference - sadly, the gardens will have to be explored on my next visit. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
