Sunday, August 30, 2009. Last weekend I joined a group of young women for an all day speed reading of the Book of Mormon. From 7:30 am until 7:30 pm we read.and took 5 minute breaks.and read.and read through our 5 minute breaks.and read again. Around 4:40 in the afternoon I crashed and burned. When I woke up from my nap in a yellow 70's armchair, I realized that my life that day was just like what my life would be like in the MTC. We get up early and begin to study in classes. Sunday, August 30, 2009. Well, just three more days until I'm in the MTC. I find that the only thing that instantly calms me is thinking ahead to the future and skipping all of the scary, first day experiences that I'll have. So hopefully these nerves go away after Wednesday. I also keep thinking how weird it is that I am a part of the very next batch of new missionaries. Thursday, June 25, 2009. This morning the back tire on my car blew up. My crippled car sat on the side of the road from 7:25am to 4:15pm when a kind mechanic pulled over and changed the tire for me. He said I'm lucky I'm a blonde or else he might not have stopped! I'm glad to report that my car runs a lot smoother now, though it looks ridiculous with its own metal nubby where the spare tire used to be. I love car trips. And this time the car has a fridge. Sunday, May 31, 2009. 5 Checkmarks to Go. So here's the deal:. One of the requirements for a young woman to serve a mission for the Church is that she is 21 years old. The missionary application can be submitted up to 3 months before her 21st birthday, and in my case, that means that I could turn mine in right about NOW. But before that happens, I have just a few things to check off my to-do list. 1 Convince my dentist that I CAN take care of my cavity-prone teeth by myself for the next 18 months.
