Research Project

Sunday, May 28, 2006. Final Final Hand in. Jack and Ray were trusted with this job. I made it pretty clear what would happen if they forgot to take my work in with theirs, not that they would! So (unless they really are that forgetful) the work is in! All of itCan’t believe it! Now just the design show which should be fun. Oh and also produced a visitor’s book for the exhibition with the help of my friend ‘Photoshop’. Am rather pleased with it actually- hopefully people make some nice comments! Saturday,...

Research Project: March 2006

http://www.researchprojectalicks.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 29, 2006. So after the abysmal presentation I would rather forget James hands me a little bit of paper with ‘sxip.com’ written on it which at the time I couldn’t even read let alone pronounce. He told me it would be really helpful for my project but being in a huff about the presentation I just stuffed it into my bag and forgot about it for a while. Anyway lots, lots more reading to do on this subject- am just so damn interested in it! Posted by alicks @ 8:36 PM. Saturday, March 18, 2006.

Sunday, April 30, 2006. In Depth Structured Interviews. These have been based upon the Identity 2.0 research. Having done extensive reading on what is a relevant and very up to date topic, all of the ‘key theorists/contributors’ within the field are alive and kicking (unlike Marx and Plato who are unlikely to be able to give me an interview! Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Wendy: Final Research Project: Literature Review. Our first official assignment for the research project was the literature review, to be handed in and looked at and I think we are given the possibility to change and improve upon it as we go along. I would have preferred to have been set the brief and come up with the ideas from there, however also fully understand that as mature(? And as soon as ideas are required of me, I just don’t have any. Ali's journal: Stuart: Live Brief: Getting it printed and handed in: (and discovering spray mount!)

http://wwwalicks.blogspot.com/2006/02/stuart-live-brief-getting-it-printed.html

Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Stuart: Live Brief: Getting it printed and handed in: (and discovering spray mount! Once all items were finished, with lots more Photoshop versus Illustrator matches along the way I had to get everything printed. As a brief conclusion to this project- it has been one of my favourites since I started uni- I loved the nature of it, especially the fact that it was a live brief: it felt as though there was a real point to it and I felt that I stretched all the creative parts of ...

Friday, March 17, 2006. Seeing as we had the strike for the original date of our presentations we were all free to hop off to the careers day (in the pouring rain I might add but hey ho! We went to a ‘talk’ later on in the afternoon, which wasn’t quite what we were expecting (We were expecting lots of new media stuff) but was interesting nonetheless regarding where people started out in their jobs and how they came to be where they are now so it wasn’t an hour wasted by any means! Tuesday, September 27, 2005. Assignment 2: Deborah Lamont and Stuart Neil: Brief One: Digital Camera: 27th September 2005. This brief required us to take a multimedia product that involves interaction between the user and the interface and analyse it using a set of criteria: I chose my Kodak digital camera as it could provide me with a high degree of interaction and usability due to the range of functions. Finally we were required to carry out a task using our product and record the results of this task ...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Production Processes: Project Management; Website Analysis. As a mini assignment we were required to analyse local multimedia companies’ websites in preparation for arranging meetings to interview project managers on production processes within the multimedia company. Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Assignment 6: Stuart Neil and Deborah Lamont : Assignment 4: HCI Report Critique (presentation): 18th October 2005. To accompany the written critique of the HCI report paper, we were also required to present our findings. Visually, I tried to make my presentation as engaging as possible, designing a recurring background design made up of the HCI logo and photographs from the conference faded into a watermark so as not to detract from the information.
