I used the processes to make my church life manageable. Most important learning was the “going directly piece” which was brand new for me. When I stop and think about what my purpose is in this situation I often recognize it is about me and my defensiveness. I realized that Matthew 18 requires intentionality and now I have practical applications – covenants, commitments. I learned again that conflict is normal. I learned again that we don’t always have to agree. I feel I have permission to approach others.

Here are two paragraphs from my proposal to the Louisville Institute that speak to the central thrust of the project. TITLE: An Exploration of Strengthening Congregational Resilience with Shalom Practices. June – Septe...

Such presentations can focus on the study itself and the discoveries made through the research. Or presentations can be provided which share the training content upon which the research was built. Below are some topics which have been appreciated in presentations in a variety of settings. Biblical tools that enhance capacity: The 5 Steps of Matthew 18 through new eyes.

The original research question that has driven this project is: How effective are various combinations of three trainings in promoting congregational resilience? The three trainings are biblical approaches to conflict; awareness of anxiety; and ministry planning. ADJUSTMENTS TO THE DESIGN. 2 United Church of Christ. 1 United Methodist – (One scheduled congregation didn’t show up). 1 Presbyterian - (One scheduled congregation didn’t show up). 0 AME (The multiple attempts to connect and involve this group ...

Resilient Communities International - Home

Building resiliency through community health. Community Health Workers need to develop teaching approaches that understand the “how” as much as the “what”.
