One of the more disturbing aspects of the Federal Vision program is its doctrine of final justification. Let’s be clear here: Protestants have no such thing. We do not not equivocate (use the same word in two senses at the same time) when we use the word “to justify.” It is too important. Facientibus quod in se est, Deus non denegat gratiam.

Luther on “The Estate of Marriage” (1522) | Pilgrim Theology

For sojourners and exiles, dearly beloved (1 Pet. 2:11). Laquo; Paul Ricoeur’s 100th Birthday. Philology: The Love of Language. Luther on The Estate of Marriage (1522). March 9, 2013 by Brenden. The following is an essay entitled “The Estate of Marriage” by the German reformer Martin Luther:. How I dread preaching on the estate of marriage! For this word which God speaks, Be fruitful and multiply, is not a command. It is more than a command, namely, a divine ordinance [werck]. The second impediment is af...

thoughts of a swimming sheep: June 2009
http://swimmingsheep.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Thoughts of a swimming sheep. Saturday, 20 June 2009. Why is it so hard to pray? Why do Christians find it hard to pray? I think prayer is not given the importance it deserves. When a church has a prayer meeting a fraction (often between 3-10) of its members turn up. Why is praying as a group such a problem in the minds of so many? If we want the world to see Jesus, then as a church we need to pray, if not then the church will continue to decline - its guaranteed! Sunday, 14 June 2009. We need to focus o...

thoughts of a swimming sheep: two years to pray
http://swimmingsheep.blogspot.com/2009/05/two-years-to-pray.html
Thoughts of a swimming sheep. Wednesday, 27 May 2009. Two years to pray. I know that it may seem to many that two years won't solve the problem that is facing the Church of Scotland. Many believe that it will still result in a split, and maybe it will. However there is one thing other than breathing space that the special commission has given us - it has given us two years to pray. . May God bless us as we turn our hearts and minds to prayer . http://swimmingsheep.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts of a swimming sheep. Sunday, 31 May 2009. Is there a problem. Is there a problem with my Christian faith,. If I throw all my standards, . All my morals, . And all my life-choices, . Out of the window . And declare while standing on a stool, . I will live my life as I want to! I love Jesus, . But it is my life . And I'll live as I choose to! Is there a problem, . If I take sin, . And lose it in a vast dictionary,. Or wrap it in bubble wrap . And send it to the postal void,. And the Bible, . Praye...
