My Hands Are Full, But So Is My Heart. A glimpse into the life of a very blessed, large, Episcopal clergy family through the eyes of one hopelessly romantic mother. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Thinking about doing some writing around here, again. (No, really. I know.) I'm also probably going to be messing with the blog design and stuff, so. Stay tuned. Links to this post. Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: March 2015
http://sowingseedsinthewilderness.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Walking paths that glorify Him . . . Best sermon yet, Father! 8211; I was glad to learn that so many of us at Advent have a great sense of humor. For those absent, I did not preach a sermon at either service; hence the wonderful comments on my sermon! Instead, we read Mark’s account of the Passion Narrative, with parishioners chosen at random reading the assigned parts. Fortunately, we were not disappointed! After all...

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: Human Trafficking Awareness Day 2012
http://sowingseedsinthewilderness.blogspot.com/2012/01/human-trafficking-awareness-day-2012.html
Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Human Trafficking Awareness Day 2012. What will you be doing to mark the occasion of ‘National Human Trafficking Awareness Day’? How will I mark the day? Is it here, too? We see the need. We see the lack. And we see His provision in the midst. Had I not, in a moment of frustration and pique, insisted upon this ministry or had the Vestry said no, who knows what would have been in store for us? R- OH) in the House h...

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: May 2015
http://sowingseedsinthewilderness.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Waiting . . . before doing and dancing . . . My mind, I suppose, has been a bit much on dancing this week. It began when I was at Cornelia’s house visiting with her and her husband. It was a chance for me to get to know them and for them to express some areas of ministry in which they felt interested and gifted. Anyway, at one point, Cornelia surprised me with some poetic observations. Or holy dance of the Holy Trinity.

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: Tell it out with joyful voice!
http://sowingseedsinthewilderness.blogspot.com/2011/04/tell-it-out-with-joyful-voice.html
Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Monday, April 25, 2011. Tell it out with joyful voice! What kind of God thinks this is an acceptable ending to a life? What kind of loving God allows children to be taken from us? Why would God allow a couple to get married on a Tuesday and take one of them the following Sunday? Have we lost our collective minds? Who in their right mind wants to be a part of a group that knows so much suffering and death? Where is our victory that He promised?

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: July 2015

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. His was a better song than the Rolling Stones' . . . Those paying attention to the lectionary may notice that we shift this week in the Gospel. We jump from Mark back into John. It might seem a curious thing to do. Part of the reason, no doubt, is that the editors of the lectionary preferred giving us all an opportunity to study the Eucharist in depth for a few weeks. Mark tends to just hammer away from point to point.

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Thursday, September 19, 2013. Meaningful relationships and a joyful people . . . As I was pouring chocolate milk, he gave me the “yo, Padre” that made me think he wanted milk. It turned out he wanted to talk. “Padre, do you think the Trinity was present in the beginning of creation.”. 8220;Of course, but why do you ask, Archie? And who is the we in the ‘us’? I laughed, but told him I found his logic unassailable. 8220;Right.”. I admit I had t...

Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness: Crumbs that become feasts . . .
http://sowingseedsinthewilderness.blogspot.com/2009/09/crumbs-that-become-feasts.html
Sowing Seeds in the Wilderness. Or at least in the cornfields. Monday, September 14, 2009. Crumbs that become feasts . . . This week, however, Mark had us focus a bit internally. While we should always be concerned about the image of Christ that we project (Am I loving my neighbor as myself? Those of us who are parents can understand her desperation. What would we not do for the safety or welfare of our children? She just needs a bit of help, help well within His means. And instead He blows her off!
