Restorying Life: September 2005

http://restoryinglife.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 26, 2005. What would you do if you saw computer models of your coastline- a mere 55 miles away- totally submerged? By then I decided to hit the back roads and head north on any farm-to-market road. I finally got far enough north that I could head west and then get into San Antonio by coming down instead of across Texas. It wasn't until I was safe at my son's house that I allowed myself to feel my feelings. I am amazed how well-honed my denial system is! Wednesday, September 14, 2005.

Restorying Life: Personal Mission Statement

http://restoryinglife.blogspot.com/2007/10/personal-mission-statement.html

Thursday, October 25, 2007. There are some cool places on the web that can help you formulate a personal mission statement. Here. Is one of my favorites. Here. Why do you want to do this? There are many reasons, I guess, but I think the best reason is that a personal mission statement helps you connect with your values. If, for example, you say in your mission statement that you value family, what evidence can you give? Are you putting a priority on family time, or are you working overtime at your job?

Restorying Life: June 2006

http://restoryinglife.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 17, 2006. He gave me his senior picture that night and he wrote on the back:. Though nothing can bring back the hour. Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower. We will grieve not, but rather find. Strength in what remains behind.". Gary B. Ashe. Forty-five years later I think about how genuinely serious we were, talking quietly, trying to grasp the meaning of our lives. What remains is the incredible strength of a shared youth and lifelong friendship. Joyce, of course.

Restorying Life: Write it, record it, photograph it... capture it!

http://restoryinglife.blogspot.com/2008/08/write-it-record-it-photograph-it.html

Friday, August 22, 2008. Write it, record it, photograph it. capture it! My point is, one of the strengths of sharing the stories of our lives is that. And we need to share those stories so that when our younger siblings or children experience crises- and they will- that they can find solace and hope in our struggle and survival. Writing prompt: Write about the rising price of gasoline and how it has changes your daily life. Posted by Joyce, of course at 11:26 AM. Joyce, of course. Plant me a story.

Restorying Life: Hip, slick and cool

http://restoryinglife.blogspot.com/2007/07/hip-slick-and-cool.html

Monday, July 16, 2007. Hip, slick and cool. Language is the way we communicate with each other, but there are different languages for different occasions. For example, the language we use at work is different than the language we use with our lover. And teenagers invent slang language so they can communicate with each other without adults interfering. Posted by Joyce, of course at 7:47 PM. Joyce, of course. What can I say- I just love a good story! View my complete profile. A few of my favorite things.

Let No One Steal Your Peace: Feeling "A Part Of"

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2007/10/feeling-part-of.html

Thursday, October 11, 2007. Feeling "A Part Of". Since I have been travelling, i have felt a little disconnected in general. I stay very conncted to my inner-circle BUT there is something to be said for connecting generally to everyone. I have been out-of-sorts with meetings, coffee, dinners and overall get-togethers. It was great to hang out with the newbies and see them all smile. Life get good when we clean up. It's good to share that too. I am glad they shared it with me. Posted by Cisco @ 8:57 AM.

Let No One Steal Your Peace: May 2005

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 30, 2005. The Big D, That's for Dallas. I spent the weekend in Dallas. I was there for the Big D Round Up. The Friday night show was lots of fun. There is a lot of talent in Dallas. The Saturday night play was very good. Lots of singing, drag, and shirtless boys! What else do I need as incentive to stay sober? While I was in Dallas, I taught at Bikram Yoga Dallas. I thoroughly enjoyed this weekend. I made a few more friends and am looking forward to seeing them again. Wednesday, May 25, 2005.

Let No One Steal Your Peace: January 2006

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 29, 2006. Happy Chinese New Year. We all just busted out laughing. Kenny has a great sense of humour. We started talking about that a little and then headed to dinner. At dinner, The Boy Who Knits was impressed that I knew the following about Chinese culture:. The Chinese use mascots assigned to each year. There are twelve so they are recycled every twelve years. According to the year you were born, you have the characteristics of that mascot. BUT BE CAREFUL! A Happy Chinese New Year.

Let No One Steal Your Peace: July 2005

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 27, 2005. My friends and I send out press releases to each other as a funform of communication. Sometimes, the choice of words, descriptions of each other, and commentary makes me laugh hysterically. I laugh, whether I wrote it or not. I wrote this one for our upcoming trip to NY. Mary Christams called me last night.I had to send him a final copy for approval.and he said "SHEEER GEEEENIUS! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE* * * * * * * * * *. Saturday, March 25, 2006. We went to the Bayou City Art Festival today. We had so much fun cutting up. I was out taking pictures. I was playing around with my new toy. There are lots of hot guys in Houston. I forget that sometime. Here are a few photos of some random guys. Posted by Cisco @ 8:46 PM 0 comments. Friday, March 24, 2006. Look What I Got. Let No One Steal Your Peace: December 2005

Saturday, December 31, 2005. Stepping Into The New Year. New Year’s Eve has always been a time when I start to reflect on the past year. My Birthday will be in two days. So, not only is it a time for a calendar year, but also for a life-year to pass. I think about what comes ahead and how I am moving forward. But in order to do that I have to look back. There was so much that happened in 2005. Here are some of the things that come to mind. I met my Little Man and he got me to believe in love again. Maxee...

Let No One Steal Your Peace: August 2005

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 30, 2005. I received some rather disturbing news last Monday afternoon. I was just a bit distraught over this. I will not be going into what it was but let's just say it is a financial mess of my own making.I had just arrived in New Olreans and had to cut my work week terribly short. I came back to Houston on Tuesday to start straightening out this terrible stuff. That I can't do. That is what Alcoholics Anonymous has taught me. There are times when I think that this is all too much f...

Let No One Steal Your Peace: May 2006

http://letnoonestealyourpeace.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 11, 2006. My PEACE is just plain gone. It’s been stolen from me. One thing I had not thought about before is that I COULD BE THE ONE STEALING MY OWN PEACE. I am trying to stay in place of love so that I do not have to come back to anyone and make any amends. I hate making amends. I am often asking myself, Is this a kind statement? Does it have to be said? Does it have to be said. Does it have to be said by me. By the time I get to that last one, the answer is definitely NO! I am still so di...

re-story book-ing. | Thoughts on books and life and whatever comes in between.

Thoughts on books and life and whatever comes in between. December 6, 2013. I glimpsed a man of gold with a broomstick on his head, through the window of a subway train that was speeding out of penn station. i was on the train. he was on a bench. I was moving, and he was still. And then I glimpsed that man of gold and for a moment, all my serious thoughts seemed so silly and out of place in a city where someone will dress up in gold spray paint, slap a broomstick on their head, and go sit on a bench.

The Restory News

Sunday, 4 December 2016. New in an old way. We’ve just completed the first unit of our Living School program. Not the easiest of entries I might say. It’s like learning a new language while reading St Bonaventure (1259), The Cloud of Unknowing (late 1300’s) and Teresa of Avila (1577). 8220;It sounds quite boring” you might think. “Being busy with all that old stuff of ancient dead people long forgotten. Their thoughts and words are of no use for us living in the 21. Now what on earth do these two inciden...
