The parade is a huge event with music, fireworks and airforce flypasts. This year, the parade is being held on the newly constructed Marina Bay Floating Stadium. Construction equipment and rooted trees are going to be common sights around the streets. Much of the work is around the Marina Promenade area - some of the park is making way for tarmac. Well, it's actually just a cruise ship, but "floating building" sounds cooler than some big boat. The Singapore Tourism Board is considering anchoring a few ships off the coast to serve as temporary hotels for F1 visitors in September 2008.
